Road trip with Model Y to Slovenia part 7

Well, if I saw a Model Y (a very recent novelty in Slovenia) charging on my local public charger, I would also take a nice walk-around it, just to get the general impression of the car's exterior and compare them to the more common electric SUVs found on the Slovenian roads (like KONA or the MG ZS EV)...Yes, we Slovenians are indeed car-crazy and very curious about the automotive novelties (no Scandinavian restraint here on the sunny side of the Alps lol) If it had Norvegian plates and MarcusBil signs, maybe I'd think: "Why, might it be that Mr. Teslabjorn is in town? I could thank him personally for such great reviews and entertainment he's giving us - and for helping me make the right decision to buy the classic Ioniq for my first EV... Nah, it can't be TeslaBjorn, why would he come so far south to our little country?" But on the other hand, myself being 190cm tall and weighing over 100kgs, I'd probably just scare him if we just bumped into each other... I wanted to say, it's highly unlikely that the people around the car meant any harm, they were just curious about a novel EV. Anyways thanks for such a positive review of our country!

As a country, you just can˝t get better promotional ads. In three parts!! Slovenian touristic agency should praise your visit! Thank you! About Postojna cave; Like skiing for the Norwegians or surfing for Hawaiians, caving is a national pastime in Slovenia. The limestone bedrock of this country of 2 million people is peppered with more than 13,000 caves. And those little "dragons" are actually an olms, mysterious underground amphibians. Slovenia is extremely proud of its remarkable little blind salamander which featured on the country’s pre-Euro coins.

Trains in Postojna cave were always battery powered.. At least they were since 70s.. But battery improvement made them go more tours with single charge

Norwegian license plate EVs are very common in eastern and central Europe. Due to immigrants actually buying the cars in norway and coming home etc. In my country, there's at least a 1/3 to a 1/4 of EV's with norwegian plates. Very common. No fossils from Norway though.

It’s a shame you didn’t drop down to the costal towns. It would be very interesting to see how would tesla cope with this highway section on the way back to the mountains. I think it goes from sea level to almost 700 meters above sea in the first 30km.

Once you are in Czech Republic, consider visiting Punkva Caves (Punkevní jeskyně) in South Moravia near Brno. Just make sure to arrange a reservation (with boat trip through the underground river), because this place is very popular and may be booked for a couple of months in advance.

I also recommend to check out the Skocjan caves, it is a different kind, also amazing. Huge depths and sizes and not far from there. We visited both on the same day.

I guess it is not meant for free parking but paying for energy instead of paying for parking. Still a better deal. We were using it a lot in Italy. There is plenty of Enel-X AC stalls close to many tourist places everywhere. They are not cheap: 0,40 EUR / kWh (0,35 using Plugsurfing card as I discovered) but when in city centers we still preferred to look for an available charger than for a free parking spot and to pay for energy which we needed anyway than to pay just for parking.

Now in Slovenia are usualy free except petrol that is expensive...every town or vilage have now own at least type2 and shuko10A....that are free ... Charging stations are usualy located on public parking spots near town center... Is Free charging 10kw and shuko10A....

U come to charging station there are phone numbers that u call and u have to have cable pluged in vehicle and station after call u get automatically conected and charge....if u want to finish charging u have to search for emergency stop button push to stop and pull out..... The process....
