@gbritaney $18,295 is the cost of the basic Kia Sportage, the price then increases from there on if you choose to opt for any packages. The top of the line Sportage EX package starts at $23,295 and that allows you to opt for features like the Panoramic sun roof, LED daytime running lights, Navigation system, leather seats and much more. If you choose to opt for all these features your total will be $28,490, thats a loaded model, it doesnt get any more expensive then that unless you opt for AWD.

She is right; those c pillars are huge. :< The fact that that rear window is so small doesn't make things look any better besides "stylish". However, I'm FINALLY starting to like what Kia is doing with their crossovers. Now, Kia, please show us some REAL tests of the AWD system in the Kia crossovers. :D Go Kia! I want more videos of the Kia Sportage and Sorento going off-road. Thanks for the very informative yet quick video, Roadfly!

i think Kia has really come a long way we have 5 Kias in my family i have the sportage brother has serento mom has soul kids have optomia and nephew has spectra we have had no proublems with any of them hope you review the new optomia

I love my '11 LX Sportage, love everything about it except I've gotten reports from people driving behind me that when I turn my turn signal on during the day, they didn't know and couldn't tell they were on because they are so low and away from the attractive taillights, so this could be a problem in the future... I may need to either get bright bright led's to replace them or have some higher ones installed :(

I love my Kia Sportage! I got a red LX sportage and I got hated the "femine" base rims (not the ones in the video) We took it to Discount Tire and I got some nice 17" Black Chaos 5 rims put on it, it looks tough and wide after this transformation!

I went and looked at some used Mercedes that were about 3 to 4 years old. They had broken plastic pieces on the dash, two of them ran like garbage. I like the way they look but I would worry about replacing the stuff that breaks on them. I think all the companies are pretty decent now. Ford was rated the same level as Toyota "before the throttle problem". So with the KIA warranty, even if it had some problems, who owns a new car for more than 10 years? I like em, I buy them. I'm happy with them.

Why does everyone think that because it has plastic in it, that it is bad? Plastic components are a huge part of our world today. You wanna talk about cars with plastic? I own a 95 Saturn. Everything except for the roof and the drive train is plastic, but it still runs pretty damn good. I think this new Kia Sportage is an awesome vehicle. Consumer Reports gave it a pretty good rating. The only rating that matters is mine anyway. We are all entitled to our own opinions.

@giannial1985 Wrong...lol Honda has been building cars since the 1940's..they built a factory over in Los Angeles California in the late 1940's. One of the reasons why the American people started to love the Honda cars was because they were so much more releible than the american cars, so Honda always made well built quality cars. Kia, on the other hand is new to the game, they just started making cars in the 1990's, so they still have some catch up to Honda and Toyota.

@MrLegion2 Give me a figure?? what Price exactly did you have in mind for this SUV, its one of the cheapest SUV's in its class, all its rivals are more expensive. The Kia Sportage starts at $18,295 while the Toyota RAV4 has half the features of the sportage at an MSRP of $21,925, the Hynudai Tuscon is similarly priced with similar features but at a higher cost not to mention its alot smaller then the Sportage aswell. The Honda CR-V is $21,695 with no where near the listed options in a Sportage.

@jupitersj the sportage is a completely different vehicle. the kia has a model that compares to the elantra at the same price point. you can not compare cars by the cargo capicity.

I'd say they got cheap with the gauges . WTH !! NO temp gauge , volts or oil !!! This is the 21st Century , I'd think putting more gauges in a vehicle would be child's play . Otherwise it is a great vehicle for the money and the Tucson is good too.

People keep using the past to rate a car. KIA was bought by Hyundai in 2000 something and they share Hyundai engines, drive trains. Honda were not that good when they first made cars. Plastic everything, underpowered along with problems. My friend works in Detroit as an engineer and sends me data all the time. One particular piece of data showed the recalls for Honda compared to Hyundai. Honda has had a recall every year the have made cars. It's all marketing, just like Toyota.
