Elize Ryd was one of many singers who sent a demo to Tuomas after they fired Tarja. She was on the short list but Tuomas thought she was a bit to young (22-23) to handle all the crap he knew would be coming. But she did get to sing with Nightwish when Anette was taken to hospital during the US tour. So Elize and Alissa Gluz, who both toured with Kamelot as support act to Nightwish at the time, jumped in and sang the songs they knew, and Marko did the rest of them. And they gave Floor some support on her first day on the new job too. ;)

If you’re looking for more of the growling, check out songs like “GG6” or the most recent one “BOOM!” (GG6 might be better first though, even though BOOM! is so much fun to listen to). Much more of a heavy sound. Amaranthe is certainly an acquired taste, but once used to the sound, it becomes much more appreciated cause honestly there’s nothing quite like them.

They just dropped the official music video for their song "BOOM!" yesterday and it's incredibly heavy. I'd also recommend their song "GG6". Both of these songs predominantly feature GG6 (the harsh vocalist's stage name; his real name is Henrik) and they are really good. GG6 has a very unique style to how he growls in certain songs. You'll see and hear what I mean if you listen to the ones I mentioned. "Countdown" and "Dream" are two other songs that have a unique style to them, but "Dream" may be a bit too light for you, so not sure. Amaranthe is known for being very synth/electronics forward, and Elize's vocal quality adds a pop element to it. Nils' vocals are also really great and power metal oriented, as he has his own band called Dynazty.

Short story about them: We had tickets for Sabatons Great Tour. So i started to listen to Amaranthe songs before the concert. It just didn´t get to me. But after see them perform on stage, i was really into it. It was a great performance that night. Elize just blew me away when she performed "Seemann" (Rammstein Cover, Apocalyptica recorded it with Nina Hagen) and "I don`t care" with Apocalyptica on stage. Still listening to them a lot, not everything they make is my taste, but there are enough different styles, so everyone could find something that fits.

I'm going to throw out suggestions just for the sake of it. Kontrust - The butterfly defect (live at woodstock) Probably not the song from them you would like the most, but might be the best in which to see the gear the use as their music videos are typically something else. This is very typical standard song for Amaranthe and gives a pretty good image of their music. However there those pearly moments. Many times mentioned cover of 82nd All the Way is definitely one of their best performances. I really liked their two first albums and then I think they went too much in modern list pop influences and don't like it that much. This song had the same more 90's vibe that hits my taste better. Let's take some of the different end songs: Archangel is their most likely heaviest song, a real headbanger; then Amaranthine is a stunning metal ballad. I got in tears during the song when they played it live on a tour supporting Sabaton. The clean vocal singers are actually very talented and they get a bit underrated in Amaranthe. The female lead singer Elize Ryd is an excellent singer and she could stand out much higher. Some of her best performances is the guest appearance in Kamelot - Sacrimony (official live) and the nice duet with Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica) for a Christmas song (metal ballad version) Julen Är Här. A fan fact of Elize: she has sang one gig as Nightwish lead singer co-worked with Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy). Nils Molin has done more power stuff in his earlier main band Dynazty. Some of my favorite songs by them are a very catchy Heartless Madness and a faster Human Paradox.

I first time heard them live when they were supporting Babymetal in UK. I was impressed by how they got whole crowd going. Other support in comparison, Sleep Token didn't do so well. *From AMARANTHE I highly recommend: "Viral", "The Nexus", "BOOM!1", "365",.....*

LOVE that keychange into the chorus! You're right, this was not the best song to start with. Try The Nexus, Hunger, Amaranthine - anything from their first two albums.

Amaranthe is definitely one of my favorites. They just released a new video for BOOM which is from the new album and has primarily harsh vocals and will scratch that itch you have.

Um... I wouldn't go with any suggestions for "BOOM!1" or "GG6" if I were you. Those songs seem like a great way to kill your interest in this band just based off this reaction. You would probably be more likely to enjoy more old-school Amaranthe, from their debut self-titled album and their sophomore album, The Nexus. Both male vocalists are different, however. I recommend "Hunger", "1.000.000 Lightyears", "Invincible" and "The Nexus". These tracks have a much better blend of styles in my opinion. Additionally, "Burn With Me" and "Amaranthine" are excellent rock ballads as well. Keep rocking on!

Their cover of Sabaton’s 82nd all the way is a great one to check out

You might like the song they did with Angela Gassow from Arch Enemy. Also Archangel and Viral are slightly heavier songs from them
@rebelmetal6663 жыл бұрын
Archangel and Viral would have been a better choice from their newest album, I personally love Breakthrough Starshot and On The Rocks. Still waiting on you to get around to Within Temptation Paradise (What About Us)

i agree with u on the synth part it is to much for me2, thats why i have the same atitude as u on several of theyre songs. But i disagree on fiering the clean singers, probably becourse i get bored by hearing only screaming in songs, prefeer clean vocals myself. something i recon no one have sugested yet is Revelution Renesance kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWWrXpZ6bqeFiac ( Michael Kiske on vocal) Symfonia kzbin.info/www/bejne/emrMi4yVeruif7M ( Andre Matos on vocal ) Timmo Tolkki`s Avalon kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXXSaZeQpbaCjZY ( Michael Kiske on vocal) other songs features other singers Floor Jansen and Elize Ryd being a cupple. these 3 suggestion is a former band member and 1 of the composers for Stratovarius, Timmo Tolkki projects after he quit Stratovarius.

Hey Tank. You should definitely watch their cover of Sabato "82nd all the way". And perhaps you could do a battle of the bands with those 2 versions😉. Great job on your channel, love all the gear stuff.

This is just my opinion, but I don't think this is a very strong song in Amaranthe's catalog. They have vastly better ones. The general sound and idea comes through though, so if this really just doesn't work, then the rest probably won't either. Fun fact: Elize tried out for Nightwish back when they were looking for a singer after Tarja.

I’m the opposite, don’t need the screamo singer, prefer cleaner vocals

Your favorite part is my worst..lol I can't stand growling vocals...just not my thing..Take it out I'd love the song

May be a song choice, may not be for you, diversity is what makes music great. If you are looking for more i would suggest drop dead cynical or digital world. Sims if my favorites of their newer stuff are boom and helix.

Amaranthes later stuff is very synth driven, their first two albums are much more guitar oriented. They're very much a love it or hate it kind of band. It is almost a mashup of modern in flames and power metal.

PLEASE do Spiritbox - Bleach Bath AND Perennial, these 2 songs are too underrated! D:
@karateabbe13 жыл бұрын
You listened to the wrong song as your first song. Better to listen to archangel or Helix or Nexus. Fearless is partly a good song but it's a bit over worked in my opinion
