They got a crowd of Polish people to headbang to a song about a German tank division. Not bad.

I guess metal is like Nokia - connecting people :) The truth is there's no second band singing about Polish history( not even in Poland) like Sabaton . Songs like 40:1 (about battle of Wizna) , Uprising ( Warsaw uprising) or Winged hussars ( Polish cavalry known as Polish hussars) are just examples why they have so many fans in Poland :) ps. There is no words to describe Pol'and'rock festival- people, atmosphere, concerts, 3 days of freedom .. i can just highly recommend ;) .. and Jinjer is confirmed on 2021 line up!

I would recommend "Swedish Pagans" live at Wacken 2019. It was their 20th Anniversary Show so they played on two separate stages at once. They invited former members that haven't been in Sabaton since 2012. They also had special guest appearance by Tina Guo, she played cello on the Wonder Woman theme song and helping on the Wonder Woman 1984 soundtrack. I would also recommend "En Livstid i Krig" (Live "The Great Tour - Gothenburg) it is them singing in their native language and the crowd is great. En Livstid i Krig means "A Lifetime of War"

110% need to do Uprising from the same show. It’s about the Polish resistance in WW2. This festival was in Poland and the crowd was insane. Sabaton goes crazy. Their energy is absolutely through the roof. Their lead guitarist, Chris Rorland, has mentioned a few fantastic guitar influences that I am a big fan of. Adrian Smith, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani. Plus, he's got some damn good gear I would kill to have. I went and did some digging and found his guitar roster over the past few years. I would say 82nd All The Way is a great one to check out, and then one that i'm personally biased towards "Ghost In The Trenches", is about the most highly decorated Native American soldier in Canadian military history and the most effective sniper of the First World War. But all in all, you really can't go wrong with anything these guys do. Killer video as always, bud! Looking forward to the next one!

I've been watching a good number of your reaction videos, and just wanted to let you know you're definitely one of the more likeable "reactors" I've watched. Maybe it's because you're something of an "insider" and actually know what you're looking at and hearing, and the lifelong musician in me simply appreciates that more than reactions from non-musicians. But a lot of reactors' reactions start coming off as rehearsed and over-the-top for the benefit of the camera. It's also nice to hear comments about more than just the lead singer and lead guitarist. Granted, a lot of reaction channels are along the lines of "vocal coach reacts to...", so I suppose it's natural that they'd focus on the singer; or "hip-hop fan reacts to metal", so you've got somebody who really doesn't know what they're hearing or simply isn't conditioned to pay attention to the "backup musicians". Oh, and I may as well give a band suggestion while I'm at it. It's not metal, but in the early 1970s there was a fantastic, all-female band called "Fanny". Very good players, they all sang, and they wrote most of their own stuff. Check out their song, "Blind Alley" - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHaWpqqqmsyDe7s

My favorite song from Sabaton is easily Carolus Rex. It's the title track for the album with the same name and it was the album to get them their first platinum award. Album description: Powerful lyrics, huge production, heavy riffs and everything put together creates an epic sound. Most people would get bored after 2 or 3 songs of this kind of album but every song is something new, a surprise, if you want. From having coir singing a prayer in Carolean's Prayer and the 153bpm double kick drums of Lion From the North to the flowing guitar riffs of Gott Mit Uns and the powerful and intimidating lyrics of Carolus Rex.

For cool ass live shows I’d recommend “Night Witches” and “The Red Baron” from the 2020 Great Tour (they went through Europe and a couple of shows in Russia before everything shut down). Both songs are fast and about pilots, Night Witches about the WW2 all-female Soviet 588th Night bomber regiment and the Red Baron about a German WW1 flying ace (whose name escapes me at the moment) with 80 confirmed kills. Both have a really interesting and fun camera angle, Night Witches dials up pyrotechnics to 11 (to someone with no experience in pyrotechnics) and the Red Baron shows off a lot more audience interaction and awesome props/customized instrument/what ever you can call what they did to that organ. It’s likely not gonna be to hard for you to find a show when we get the current situation under control, as in a normal year I’ve heard that they tour over 200 days. If you wanna check out some other music videos, my recommendations would be “Fields of Verdun” and “Seven Pillars of Wisdom”, both very well directed. The first showing some of the brutalities of WW1 trench warfare, and the second being filmed on location in the Sahara Desert with Indy Nidel who is the historian in Sabatons own history channel (heading back from shooting the band got into a pretty bad car accident, enough so that they had to cancel a couple of shows but they recovered, Indy wasn’t in the accident as he had an extra day of filming on camel back (they show some really cool photos from that on the relevant Sabaton History episode))

82nd All The Way and The Last Stand love videos from the Great Tour really shows how much fun they have on stage. They love to fuck with each other to the point where Joakim laughs in the middle of a verse. Definitely check those out!

I gotta say their live show is phenomenal!! I'll just say that. As for the pyro... check out any song of them from Wacken 2015... they have a tank drum riser!!! (Yes with pyro shooting out of it)

If you get lucky, they may just tour with Nightwish again 🤞. My first time hearing them was when they opened for Nightwish and I was an instant fan. We also chatted to Joakim for a bit after the show and he was such a nice guy!

I love me some Sabaton, got to see them live last year when they were touring with Hammerfall and they both blew the house down. Glad to see another person who started KZbin during the pandemic having fun with it and your channel doing well. We'll get to see these amazing shows soon enough, just gotta be patient! If you haven't checked them out before then check out beast in black. Maybe their song "Berserker" or "Blind and frozen"

You do have to see this band. They are the most energetic live band ever. You can tell they're having a blast, the crowd is always wildand it's a great time! My favorite song is Night Witches.

Great reaction! Blind Guardian use in the outro was a nice nod to the runner-up in the Patreon poll. Fear Factory intro took me back 20 some-odd years. hahaha

Angels calling, 7 pillars of wisdom, fields of verdun, 82nd all the way, great war, winged hussars, Sparta. That's just a few off the top my head, get into them you will not be disappointed I wasn't, and being a veteran, listening to them tell the tales from war history no judgement or bias is brilliant.

I managed to see Sabaton live just before lockdown started. They were fantastic.

Its highly suggested to watch Sabaton's whole "Great Saturday" series of videos they've been putting out the last few months. Cameraman on stage with the band while they play from their latest tour. For bonus points it has Apocalyptica and Amaranthe playing with them for a few of the videos/songs as they toured together.

I agree, you should see Sabaton live. I have seen them live once just before things closed down... and when they can tour again and they come near my place again... I AM SO GOING AGAIN. Was fun to watch your reaction and there are quite a few songs you could watch. One I really like is Bismarck, 40-1 and Carolus Rex.

Sabaton "en livstid i krig - live gothenburg 2020" I was there on that show and the whole crowd started singing istead of Joakim. The song "en livstid i krig" is the Swedish version of there song a "liftime of war" tho both songs tell a diffrent story. "En livstid i krig" tells the story of a singel Swedish soldier going to war. "A liftime of war" tells a story about the 30 years war where soliders lived through a war there whole lives.

40:1 and Uprising from this show are both fire. Check out any video of the tour they just finished up earlier this year ('The Great Tour') You will notice new band members, Hannes van Dahl replacing Robban Back on drums and Tommy Johansson replacing Thobbe Englund on guitar. Have fun!

Saw these guys in Houston back in 2015 when they opened for Nightwish. Not sure who got the better reception, Nightwish or Sabaton. The show was killer.

RE: The Audio Feedback. Here's some observations from some guy on the internet....take them for what they are worth. The singer was running right in front of the side fill stacks on SL and SR from what I can see. Chances of getting vocal mic feedback are massive and rather predictable if that happens (you've likely seen a lot of this in person also). L'Acoustic ARCS with SB18 subs seen at 6:59 in the video to the singer's left on Stage Left (there will also be a mirrored stack on Stage Right). Feedback at 7:01 when he turns back onstage with the mic up and to his right (as he moves behind the guitar player) and then is exposing the capsule straight into the coverage of the horns on the ARCs. Instant feedback at that point. It drops off quickly as he moves farther onstage (inverse square law in acoustics at work there - it's a proximity thing). When he is downstage of the ARCs as shown at 6:59 he is just out of the High Frequency throw (coverage) of the cabinets - L'Acoustic ARCs are constant directivity boxes and they have very precise/tight/narrow polar pattern control in the high frequencies (the high frequency arc or coverage is the same as the angle of the wedge profile of the ARC cabinet when it is viewed from the top so it is pretty easy to tell with those specific cabinets where the HF coverage is going to be dropping off (or beginning) either with a single box or an array of 3 as shown in the vid). Hence those boxes are called ARCs for a good reason - they were designed with precise HF coverage and control in mind. Additionally, there is next to nothing a monitor engineer can do if you point a cardioid mic capsule (even slightly within the mic's pick-up pattern) towards those stacks if you are in close proximity to them. Same goes for traditional floor wedges. Also important to keep in mind that most festival monitor positions are positioned offstage left and given that normal condition it is seriously doubtful the engineer would have been able to see the singer when he was over there with the side fill stack in question blocking his (monitor engineer's) view of the singer. If the stacks were cranked....and there is 100% chance that's the case with a stage deck that wide and an audience that loud....you will always get feedback (directionally exposing a mic capsule to the horns either on purpose or accidentally) unless the engineer is actively muting your mic when you are right up close to them. Lesson to be learned = never point your vocal mic capsule at a wide open mains or side fill PA stack. Consider that my 2 cents thrown in from the intertubes and If I'm pointing out something you already know...that's cool too. Anyhoo....Great review Tank! I really enjoy hearing from someone with an industry perspective. Makes me feel a little more at home watching these reaction vids!...oh and the band and the song....pretty good....lol.
