Love this band's whole aesthetic. Everything from the feel of their songs (as different as they can be from one to the next) to the videos, even to their merch, I'm loving their style. Thank your friend for telling you to go in blind, there's nothing worse than reactors obnoxiously acting like they haven't heard the song they're reacting to. Good shit man, keep 'em coming!

This was an awesome reaction vid. I only heard of this band a few days ago, as they came up in the feed, and am so glad that I had listened to a few other songs before this one. Rule of Nines (especially), Blessed Be, Circle with Me and a couple others. Was compelled to watch more even though I had never been into harsh vocals before. I think it was the effortless switch that got me. (Had also just found Will from Lorna Shore, which was how this started.) After telling a friend about hearing Spiritbox, he mentioned Holy Roller, so of course I HAD to watch this reaction.
@elninorocksatx4 жыл бұрын
I am SUPER critical and picky about modern/progressive metal and this is my favorite band right now. Reading some of the other comments, I can agree that Rule Of Nines should definitely be next. Since you typically like videos where it shows the band playing, watch the official video. If you want to see Courtney in action, watch the live one take version. Either will blow you away. Also, one other suggestion is her live one take version of a song called "The Beauty of Suffering". That one is pretty aggressive and I would say has more of a 70/30 ratio on screaming versus singing. Great reaction, man! Subbed!
@TankTheTech4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, man! I definitely like full band shots in a lot of music videos, but am WAY more interested in hearing more of Courtney's vocals. Thank you for also recommending the video of her doing the one take recording.

Also, they have a trilogy of songs titled "The Mara Effect" (part 1 - 3) that they perform live at Silverside Sound. The video actually gave me the creeps, something a lot of horror movies fail to do, which seem to be way too focused on jump scares instead of actual atmosphere. Glad I gave them another look, because the first video I have seen did not really do it for me, but this one is awesome, but too short. Easy on loop though, and oh so freakishly heavy after the drop at 1:53. :)

I've watched multiple "first time" reactions to this song because this song was also my first time hearing this band. One thing I noticed is that everyone seems to cop on that it's the girl singing at some point and it's making me feel dumb now because I had genuinely no idea it was a girl singing the whole way through. I thought they might just be using the girl for the purpose of the video.. But then I seen the comment section and people said "Courtneys voice is incredible" and I was like.. who's Courtney, was that singer a girl? I thought it was just a high pitched dude like Kellin Quinn.

I mean, that’s what I thought at first. I thought she was just there as part of the aesthetic for the video, that’s why I was so surprised when I found it that was her.
