For a tall or heavy person it’s not good bike. But up hill it sucks. And it’s super heavy. They need to add torque. It goes around 22 on flat. I think because they put the off road tires and shocks on mine. But uphill only about 11 on mode 4. Test ride it up hills before you buy it. I live in san clemente so lots of hills. I’m glad he let you know about the hills. It’s so heavy you can’t man power up a hill and I’m an athlete.

Nice....I seen a couple of diy hybrid gas/electric bike videos.They said it doesn't help top speed but helps for climbing hills & faster acceleration. I really want an e-bike like a 29in full suspension mid drive but it's soooo expensive. I found a 29in mongoose exhibit hard tail on sale for $99 (strong 48 spoke double wall wheels cheap bike but good for the price) and bought an Anbull 66-80cc 2 stroke kit for $120 put another $40 in on a thumb throttle, spring chain tensioner & misc.... I was gonna spend another $60 on rear rack,saddle bags & head/tail light = $320 a very good price for all you're getting . If I add another $120 for better cylinder head and expansion pipe exhaust. I'd have a great brand new motorized bike for $450 VS $2,700....The only thing I hate is the engine noise but so worth it to save $2,250 .

You don't need power to go up hills, just torque. I have a 250w class 1 ebike that can literally climb any hill that I am capable of keeping friction and balance on. That's because it's a mid drive motor that takes advantage of the gearing to get more torque. Power is wasted if it's not geared effectively. Hub motors are fine for cruising on flat ground

Hub motors will take advantage of your gears
@michaelsanders9506 Жыл бұрын
Yeah your 750s got three plastic gears in it gives you a three-to-one gear ratio which gives you mortorq higher Newtons from an initial stop and start. When you get about a thousand Watts most hub motors are not geared. Like my 1200-watt is a direct-drive hub. I don't have as much torque on takeoff Newton's. But once my RPMs are up it doesn't matter anymore weather 52 volt 20 amp hour battery on my home build from a giant frame. Will run 35 to 40 miles per hour depending on terrain wind direction. I'm in Florida so I'm a very much flat ground. And I'm running 700c by 40mm. No fat tire here. Everything is whisper-quiet down the road all you can hear is the wind in your ears

With a power rating of 750W nominal with a 2 KW peak, I see no reason why it should struggle on any hill short of lacking tire traction (which can happen to any bike). Single-speed only limits your own input power since you don't get the torque multiplication, but the motor shouldn't be too affected by that since it's a hub-drive. If it was a mid-drive, that would be a different story. Side note -- saved 16 minutes on a 12-mile commute in SF ... is that comparing this e-bike to a regular bike or the e-bike to some other mode of transit? I did an 11-mile commute back in the day, and it also included that same run up Embarcadero and the Marina trail and into the Presidio that was seen in the video... and that was on a regular folding bike, and it saved me more like 40 minutes versus taking the MUNI.
