Just bought a 2023 MX-5 GT a month or so ago. Ordered the Goodwin Roadstersport Race muffler, no baffle. I love it! Sound comparable to a 1960 Austin Healey with its split manifold and two exhaust pipes and mufflers.

I have this same exhaust on my 92, I have yet to take the baffle out due to the weather and being in storage but this will be the first thing I do come spring!

Yes, for the same reasons. The 99-05 axle back RoadsterSport 4 has a Helmholtz chamber too.

So those pops are from the muffler alone? Or do you have a hole exhaust set up?

The RS4 is a cat-back system. The Video maker explains around the one minute mark that he also added a hi-flow catalytic converter to a stock downpipe.

IIRC this was without a cat, previous owner did a cat delete. The exhaust was loud, but not overwhelming. Honestly perfect for a daily because it was mild while cruising but really opened up once you get on the throttle.

I’ve not found it that great to be honest, it drones less than the Roadstersport 3, but the roadstersport 4 does drone upto 3000 rpm. I found the roadster sport 3 for the NB a far supirior product, unfortunately the cat decided to break up on my NB after 2 years of use !.

I just purchased a Miata for my first car and I’m really having trouble with transitioning from first to second gear and downshifting. You seem to have it down to as science. Lol. Just wondering if you had any tips. And also, this exhaust sounds absolutely amazing. So many of the other exhaust systems I hear for this car sound so high pitched, but this is just right. I’ll be purchasing it for sure.

A little bit, but not enough to make a noticeable difference. The baffle is designed to still allow straight through flow

its the hard bar, attaches to top and bottom of the seat belt towers, probably ok in a roll over but if I did it again I'd buy one of the six point ones instead. Also sits quite far forward so if you are 6 foot tall with seat all the way back your head will be hitting the bar and will be above it, so you would need to cut foam out of the seat or get an aftermarket seat to get your head below the bar. upsides of the hard bar are it is the easiest to install and you dont have to cut any metal, just the plastic quarter panels. All the hardware provided is excellent, quality is excellent, just be aware of size/fitment. Overall I wish i'd gone to the extra effort of the six point. hard dog do several that work with glass rear window. double duece looks nice too and sits slightly further back than the other bars so probably best overall. you cannot get over the height issue tho, if you are 6 foot or over and driving a miata I would say dont bother with a rollbar - if you are worried about safety buy a bigger car.
