Yeah I’m the same. When I saw it in person I was pleasantly surprised. Just wondering what sort of depth the jimny can actually wade through. How deep did you go ?
@RoamOverlanding5 жыл бұрын
Daniel Heywood I think the deepest we went was nearly above the wheel
@vicrundle46615 жыл бұрын
@@DanHeywood92 it's never recommended to go deeper than the centre of the wheel, because deeper than that you start to damage stuff like wheel bearings, alternator, starter motor and electronics. If you have to, the Jimny will go to about half way up the headlights. That is level of the air intake. Also the door seals are not as good as the previous generation, so you better keep moving.
@RoamOverlanding5 жыл бұрын
I very much so agree with Victor. You have to take it easy, also if there is any flow in the water it can just be really dangerous to take it further than half way above the wheel.

Where is the air intake of the jimny?And why did the auto transmission pass easier?...very nice video.
@theedge5085 жыл бұрын
Νίκος Χολ. Yes that is good question
@RoamOverlanding5 жыл бұрын
The air intake is in the top left corner of the grill, the auto doesn’t need to shift gears the same way in the water, so if you run out of revs it can gear back easier. Where as with the manual, if you pick the wrong gear you can easy get stuck, because if you stall you can’t start the engine again

Hey bud! The official wading depth is only around 30cm; so one needs to be cautious with water crossings. The air intake is just to the left of the front badge so if you cross that point.. it definitely won’t be a good day

I read of people going in with water just below the bonnet...and fucking nailing it 😂 seriously tho, I heard 90cm is a still viable depth. Are they exaggerating?
@RoamOverlanding5 жыл бұрын
Gioele Grenga you can still pull in water through your hubs, so that’s why they claim 30cm, the air intake is before the grill. So if you get water in there you can skull nuke your engine. The air box does have a bit of minor water drainage, but a raised air intake and diff breathers would still be optimal.
