The Night Sentinel Lore and Physiology Explored | From Righteous Soldier to Demonic Marauder

At first, the Argenta were a fairly proud and noble race. That was until the Maykr nation attacked. Shortly after the discover of hell energy, it became clear what needed to be done, atleast in the eyes of the maykrs. They would set up factories and harvest other species for their souls. Half the Night Sentinels would turn against their former gods. Others would join them. Those that stayed with the Maykrs, upon their expiration would be risen by the demonic energy to become the Marauders. In todays episode, we will discuss what happened and the physiology of these soldiers!

They invaded his world, killed his friends, killed him (seriously at the end of the first Doom episode Knee Deep in the Dead Doomguy dies and goes to The Shores of Hell where he resumes ripping and tearing), destroyed most of all he knew and then they invaded Earth and killed his rabbit. Dude is done. He's enacting a scorched earth (hell?) policy on the demons. Also I don't think he can really be killed again. I know gameplay wise you can die but lorewise. I think dying once has put him in some kind of limbo where the power of his unbridled rage and hate and spite keeps him together as some kind immortal soul that exists to destroy everything that hell has touched.

All of monster hunter world's monsters are pretty interesting biologically, from the beginner Pukei - Pukei to endgame monsters like Raging Brachydios and Safi'Jiva. I suggest vaal since you seem to enjoy analyzing fictional pathogens and Vaal's got a special relationship with his ambient bacteria that is otherwise harmful. Also, World have been out for 3 years already and still holds the title of the best looking Monster Hunter game, graphics wise

Most folks might pick the Monsterverse version, but I actually think Shin Godzilla is a better one for you to dissect since the science behind it is a major driving force for his movie; his genetics and overall biological makeup are much more important in that movie, and they go into more depth about it. Plus, multiple forms to analyze individually and the biology of shifting between them!

Heck even King Novik and the other kings are taller than marauders, so In a way, even without hells energy, they can still grow in time as the kings are olders meaning that as the Knight Sentinels grow older, they become taller and stronger as Night Sentinel laws dictate that if you are weak and cannot even lead armies at the front, you will be ousted and replaced with more powerful kings and also with the new dlc, it was shown that even when alive, they went through the divinity as a process of the maykrs plan to find the destroyer and they all turned insane.

I'd say a Marauder's "infection" if you wanna call that is still growing. Look at the red crystal on his chest. It looks like its say a "seed" and its slowly budding. I'd say it's affecting straight to his heart so it's coursing thro his veins turning him that way. If you look at it you can see that weird spider web like veins shooting away from it. His veins in his arm are also affected but if it is in his heart and being pumped thro his blood via injecting into the heart then ya makes sense. I'd say that red crystal or what ever is channeling the energy into him to affect him through out the whole body at once instead of just heavily altering one or a few aspects.

You know. Lore wise the DOOM Slayer could destroy planets with one punch. Yet the Marauder can catch a punch and an Arch-Vile can get the DOOM Slayer in a struggling state for a second when he atemps to slam his left claw hand at the slayer. So imagine how strong the Icon of Sin and Davoth really are.

Something that I wonder is whether or not the Slayer in 3rd person is actually accurate compared to demons. In first person, the Marauder does look taller, however he doesn’t look that much taller. It’s kinda strange, because even as the Slayer, lore wise he should be much taller than regular humans as well. Like in the Mars Core cutscene where we grab the plasma rifle from him, the soldier there seems roughly the same height. But if that’s the case, that human is way above the average height of any normal person.

I do not think so. If anything, the Cyberdemon's armor was organic, while the Marauder's was either grafted or worn. But both could have enhancements, if the Cultist Marauder skin is canon.

The estimate you gave for Argen soldier weight is on par with 3-8% body fat, which is standart for bodybuilders whos muscle goal is more for show than for actual use. Argents being bred for war, they should be more towards soldier standarts regarding body fat, which is around 15-30%... Meaning these behemoths should be 230-300 lbs, if they are 6'0"-6'5" tall. Given this, a marauder growing to 8 feet tall and double his mass, could potentially go over 600 lbs, pre armor... Just to put this into perspective, this would make his strenght higher than a 6'0, 400lbs gorilla, while they still have their Argen soldier training.

It would be interesting to get a biology deep dive into the various Reaper constructs from mass effect. The husks, cannibals, and of course the marauders lol. There's obviously some grey area of liberty thats psuedoscience, and their manner is never explicitly explained, but nanites maybe? A good excuse to differentiate just how much of this is actually feasible with our current understanding.

It would be an interesting dlc to play as marauder that decided to betray hell and fight for argent again.
