Excellent advice! There is a reason why I always hesitate and think triple times to buy the Boy bag, certain LV bags and seasonal Chanel items. One way to curb my urge is always think, "if I see these bags in a goodwill store, will I still buy them?" if the answer is no then I know I have followed my gut instinct!!

Okay, I hated the 19’s at first. Thought they were repulsive... and then they grew on me with time. I think they are beautiful now, depending upon which color it’s in (the white and caramel colors in particular); those two colors in the 19 are breathtaking in my perspective.

It’s edgy, it’s practical, it’s constructed for 21st century women. I love Chanel classic flap and it always will be in my collection. But, as per today Chanel19 is my number one choice for busy life. 🤗

Yes 🙌🏼. So true with the heard mentality. I have found that Karls chain proportion on both the 19 and the boy bag aren’t very flattering on all shapes and sizes. It’s always interesting to see how flattering the reissue chain is on every body frame. To Cocos credit she really perfected the chain length. Makes you wonder why today’s Chanel can’t get it right.

I hated this bag when it first came out. Last year I bought a 19 size large (the medium size) and it was MIFrance I exchanged it for the medium size (the small size) and it is MIItaly. I love the Chanel 19 as per the structure of the bag I use an organizer;) Dacob I disagree with you on many different points on this video, I think you should give it a try, it’s not as “delicate” as you see it jmho 😉

I had similar thoughts on the Chanel 19. It doesn’t have that “it” factor for me. I tried loving it. I almost did by seeing all the influencers rock it. The bag is meh, I like the vibe and aesthetic but not something I love. I prefer it in the fabrics and tweeds over the leather. The 2021 cruise collection has a sequin version in paste a baby blue thats stunning. Thank you for the honesty 🤍

It is great how you talk about the construction of bags and how they will hold up over time. It seems many designers are no longer concerned about the longevity of their bags and many consumers do not care. It takes a couple years of wear to see the impact of ill-placed hardware, and by that time the designer has already sold tons of the style to immediate rave reviews, leaving a trail of disappointed buyers that their expensive bags did not hold up.

The 19C looks like a knock off that was made with left over materials, then left out in the sun for too long and lastly dumped in water for a few hours which caused it to get swollen.

I LOVE the look but I hate the poor functionality of the bag. The chain falls off your shoulder, unless you get the maxi which sits well (but the maxi is heavy unless you go for the tweed which ages terribly). The strap drop is weird and non-adjustable. The top handle chain pinches your fingers when holding it as a top handle. Its just a weird bag

Dacob, I was repulsed by this bag when it came out. I absolutely hated it. The constant exposure on social media has made me accept it, but I know it is not a bag for me. To me, there are too many statement details on one bag - chunky chains, multi coloured hardware, oversized quilting, puffy leather, and the oversized woven CC logo. It all seems to clash and compete with each other. First, the woven CC logo seemed tacky to me. IF it was a solid CC logo, perhaps I would have warmed up to it. The sag factor would really bother me personally. I can predict that this bag would become very saggy over time. The flap when carried top handle leaves a gap on both sides so that doesn't sit well with me plus the handle would stretch out the top flap. And no leather lining doesn't help with the structure. I have a lambskin boy bag that I have not used so it's pristine, but I've witnessed it's wear and tear on others and the structure is terrible. I did cave once and bought the small white 19. I brought it home and realized it really wasn't me. I returned it the next day. The strap was also annoying and fell off my shoulder. I could appreciate the mushy-ness and softness and the convenient back pocket. But it's such an expensive bag that I can predict will not maintain it's structure. I can see how some people would really like it as it is functional, edgy, and youthful. So I respect that. Social media is influencing me to want this bag, but I had to step back and evaluate my choice.

Wouldn’t a purse organizer help maintain the shape? Crossbody would eliminate the falling off your shoulder thing. I personally am a crossbody girl. My shoulders are small so nothing sits well regardless of bag unfortunately haha but crossbody also leaves you hands free which I need. Guess it’s preference really.

@@Teenytiny62 Oh yes, a purse organizer and a base shaper would do the trick. But I'm more concerned about the chain handle pulling on the flap. But, some people like that look. I also have small shoulders (sometimes we benefit from that). So the strap has a leather bit in the middle of the chain strap. So, if you do wear it cross body, the leather bit is kinda off the shoulder and towards the back - which can feel a bit weird. But, a lot of people don't seem too bothered about that.

We all fall for marketing from time to time. @@SuperDacob Dacob I wanted to update you on what happened when I returned the Chanel 19 bag. But first I an an older woman who has been buying Chanel bags for 30 years and most of my bags are the medium classic double flap. I bought the 19 because I wanted a red bag an it looked very youthful, casual and fun. Anyway they would not take it back because it is standard Chanel policy not to take back bags that had the price tag removed; which I had done.; a policy I have never heard of before and one that will not stand up in court since they do not give the customer a written copy of the policy when the bag is purchased. anyway I m now a bitch, in fact I have excellent relationships with my various SA's around the country. This happened at a store I never shopped in before. I just watched one of your videos from 2016 and I love your short blondie hair do.

I am considering a Chanel 19 bag. I have a classic flap but never use it cos of its hard structure. I love slouchy bags more and Chanel 19 fits that description. BUT I hate that massive CC logo on the 19. I am even considering a brown/dark beige version just so that the CC logo "blends" in. It sticks out too much on a black 19 bag. I like luxury but hate obnoxious logos. I think I'm good after watching this video. Thanks Dacob 😊

I have brought many LV since.Haven’t gotten any Chanel since.I have been looking into getting a Chanel.So I am aiming for a WOC but currently the only thing available is this 19 c woc but it’s still $3300.00 and price will increase in a few days. Hence that’s why nothing’s available. I might wait maybe another 30 yrs.I buy bags for pleasure not investment.After watching this video, you have convinced me not to get it. I like it but don’t love it. Thank you

Chanel really comes up with some tacky stuff from time to time. The Gabrielle was not a moment for me, those vanities are meh, same with the lunchbag style with the huge logo they came out with at some point, the tote bag with the huge logo across the whole thing. The boy bag as well: not my vibe. If people saw these bags at a highstreet shop, they would never even care to look at them.

To totally Chanel uneducated me the 19 looks like a cartoon. If I wanted to go down the pillow road I´d rather go for the Maison Margiela Glam Slam, I think - though the quality did not convince me when I saw it in person (which opportunity I did not have with the 19) and I hate the plastic buckle on the shoulder strap.

19 appears to be a pillowy bag but unfortunately all the metal hardware all over the bag makes it less easy to use and less cozy, so to me it looses the initial visual pillowy idea once one starts to use it...

I hate this bag. It's hideous. HIDEOUS! I have never seen it styled well. Never seen it look good on anyone. It looks like a gimmick - a counterfeit - a caricature; Chanel mocking itself.
