If that shirt was for a toddler its kind of weird. Like they are ok with the kid being an ally but not actually LGBTQ+ It would be better if it was just the normal flag.

Tbh I like people wanting to be part of the community, but if you find it necessary to clarify that you are a *straight* ally, it breaks the illusion for me. It's like "yeah I support you, but only from the sidelines and as long as everybody knows, I am not like you queers." Just as you said: Just wear the pride flag or even better the progress flag: Because then it's obvious that you support our community, every bit of it, without disclosing details about your own sexual identity.

the thing about the ally flag is that allyship is a practice, not an identity. having a flag for allies is just kind of weird because it’s not the same as being gay, bi, trans, etc. because those are things you can’t change and are inherent parts of yourself, whereas your actions and choices are what make you an ally.

Hi Lauren!! you probably don't remember me but I just wanted to let you know that I finally told my best friend I like her...! It went like a million times better than expected, we had a conversation about how we "used" to like each other (which was a huge deal to me) and then she said that she's still not fully over it and I said I wasn't either and then we had a whole conversation about how we both like each other a lot and we have for a long time and we were both like in shock. This was all in the middle of the night and of course I had to delete all the texts and calls from my phone so my parents wouldn't see but I'm so proud and there's no way I could've ever gotten this far without your videos and advice to help me. I’m coming out on the fifth to my parents. Had a whole plan, I had told some friends on the first and they were really accepting, so we were gunna go to target for a “hang out” so I can buy a bunch of pride stuff before the month is over. The section was disappointing. The lack of rainbow was Immeasurable, and if I jumped out of the LITERAL closet wearing that stuff, my parents would be MORE confused. Most of what they had were the white pride skittles.

The classic rainbow pride flag just states pride. Allies can use it when they want to support us, there doesn't need to be a separate flag I don't think, '4 the gays was AMAZING, enjoyed every minute of it, thank you Lauren!!!

I actually loved the lesbian pride flag dress, my wife/life partner and I both love long flowing flowy dresses!!!! XD Especially in springtime and summertime!!! You can easily cinch it with a belt or something like that to show off your figure too, if you wanted!!!! XD Lol!!! As a bisexual woman, I do not personally have a problem with the straight ally flag. Do I think it's necessary? No. But it doesn't personally bother me. I can totally understand why others may feel differently though.

I like the ally flag. I myself am a lesbian but my sister is cishet and she's super supportive. However, she's one of those people who couldn't stand it if anyone thought she were gay but I truly think that she would come to a Pride parade for me. I think that she would be happy to carry an ally flag around, but not the Pride flag. I'm just glad that she supports me. Thank you for your video, I always love them!

As a member of the most oppressed human group (sarcasm) cis straight male I would say that idea to get our own flag (as an ally) might sound good idea in someone's head but in reality it is a bad idea. Personally I have no problem to wave the flag that represents everyone LGBTQIA+ people. Unfortunately in my hometown the Pride always have been when I have something (like meeting) and "main" Pride in my country (Helsinki Pride) is way too far away.
