Let me give you a bit of background about the last one. It was at Adelaide Oval and a Crows game. Our Chief medical officer (a woman who admitted she knew nothing about footy) urged the crowd not to touch the ball if it came their way. That was to avoid catching COVID from the ball. That spectator did a great job of returning the ball without putting his hands on it. Incidentally Chief Med Officer Professor Nicola Spurrier has never lived that down. 😄

You should have a look at what happened yesterday when Buddy Franklin kicked a 1000 goals have a look at the crowd runing onto the field. More people on the field than in the grandstand. Security guard did not even try to bother holding them back.

The last one you showed Crows fan was really funny, because SA Health spokesperson said spectator's " try not to touch the ball" its covered in germs. She lifted the crowd size that week ! We would have done what ever she asked Ha Ha 🤣😂❤🐨🇦🇺

The video with Razer saying to the Doggies player "Do not speak to me, like that" is actually a huge thing this season. Anyone yelling, arguing with, abusing or swearing at the umpire gives a free kick away. New rule. Some players have found it hard to abide by!

It's about time the AFL umpires, especially a character like Razor Ray, found and tapped into their inner Nigel Owens and Wayne Barnes. I'm all for that rule change.

When I was umpiring I could tell when they were venting and frustrated with themselves but telling me "you're f... kidding" etc. As long as it wasn't over the top and not disrespectful I'd just say to them "I hope you're saying that to yourself and not to me!" They'd very quickly take the hint, would usually say "oh yes definitely to myself" and we'd move on with life. It was a nice way to tell them off without going all authoritative on them. I was umpiring 15-16 year olds so they knew and didn't repeat it.

The one at 11:37 where the Fans holding up their hands is because our Chief Health Officer was worried that you could catch COVID or Pass On COVID to the players if you touched the ball, Even though at that time we were at COVID Zero where our boarders were shut and we had zero cases

The guy in the last clip was not putting his hands up to celebrate he was on camera, he was showing he was not touching the ball as Covid-19 rules prevent it at this time, he also may have been celebrating he was able to get the ball back in play without touching it.

@michaelfink642 жыл бұрын
Yes, Glad Wrap is an Aussie brand of cling film. I think I hate Ray Chamberlain as much as you love him. A good umpire should have minimal impact on the game, rather than being the centre of attention. Razor is the opposite of that. He also butchers Hawthorn every time.
@athlonen2 жыл бұрын
Glad Wrap is international, as we have it here in the US as well. And as far as Razor Ray goes, if you think he's being the center of attention, then you would have absolutely detested Nigel Owens. I'm with Rob on this; the umpires are just as part of the game as the players are, and it actually brings more to the game when they can show a bit more color to the game. they don't impact the game as you think with their color, but they aren't a group that should just shut up and cop what the players give.

@@RobReacts1 He's actually a very good umpire. He was originally maligned by a commentator years ago and footy fans simply bought it rather than questioning the callous umpire hating opinions of that commentator.
