I saved the money and finally received my own Paiste Masters Swish last week. After playing it for a week I can say that I love that cymbal. She responds to even the softest touch. If having feelings for a cymbal is wrong, then I don't want to be right!

I’m a bass player. I don’t play drums at all, though I do own a kit..... _old drummer borrowed and crashed my car, then left town. I kept his kit_ So much useful information. Found This channel when I was trying too tune the kit after stripping it, taking it back to natural wood, cleaning it and reskinning it. Sounds awesome now.

@@shugyoforyou211 cheers I got out and repaired it, cost my $900 in parts from a wrecker and a solid day pulling it down and putting back together. He owed me another $1,800 in advances on gigs and his share of the money I had forked out for rehearsals, posters, and reskinning the snare. Just the cost of doing business with some musicians. You just get on with your life.

I realized you can use this pattern to play the groove at the beginning of Sonny Rollins' St. Thomas (the classic recording w max roach). Just put your right stick on the floor tom for beat 1, then move it to the rack tom for the rest of it, I kept my left hand on the open snare the whole time, great groove to ride with on that tune (although maybe with less persistent doubles on the bass)
