I’m 29 (born in 1995) now and first properly got into football in 2003/04 and picked Liverpool as my team as I loved John Arne Riise. The premier league between those years of 2005-2015 were just pure drama and excitement that you could want in football especially with those 2 striker partnerships that were world class It’s so sad to see this 4-3-3 modern system and also the fact like Rio said, there isn’t any world class 9’s anymore. All the ‘world class’ players are on the wings or playing in midfield
@adrianmarrinan7707Ай бұрын
Its impossible to be a number 9 now or at least a good one....NO service into the box! I think if any team in the prem went old school, a right footer RW and a leftie on LW with a half decent striker, they would cause carnage for any team in the prem. As well as a shortage of strikers theres a shortage of defenders who can actually defend!
@lufckopite5448Ай бұрын
Quality show and got the feeling from you both that you were telling truths. So many shows you watch & listen and you know they are talking nonsense but you can tell everything you both talked about was genuine. Great memories from 2000 to 2002. Was absolutely gutted when you both left the club but knew it wasn’t all down to you. This was a great watch & to reminisce about those great days. What a ride it was.

The striker partnership and the IQ and chemistry some of the duos had together is such an underrated thing in football history. It just doesn't exist. Think about all the times that position created magic together without anybody else even being involved

I used to love CM season 01/02. I would often be Leeds as they had a top class team from keeper to strikers and quality young back up players in nearly every position. The strikers were Keane, Viduka, Smith, Kewell and Bridges. I think Keane was one of the very best CM players in a slightly earlier version of the game when he was classed more as an attacking midfielder equally good on either foot.

We would usually play on hard rough tarmac surface with a few jagged edges here and there.. I remember watching Robbie the first time at Molineux, 17 years, and he stood out like a sore thumb amongst the other 21 players, his vision, control, technique, different class, you knew he'd be onto greater things. He was better than Michael Owen I thought, more of a 10, and long-term his international record alone in goalscoring speaks for itself. I always wished he'd come back to Wolves, and respect how he never celebrated against his old clubs. It had to be him on loan at Villa scoring against us years later! I remember seeing Keane and Joleon Lescott running together near the stadium... Classy guy, straight up talker. Great interview.
