It is kind of eerie to watch/listen to this clip and many others of his from around this time. Like in retrospect when you hear what he was dealing with personally, it's like he is subconsciously screaming for help and all the world is doing is saying "Yeah we love this! More! MORE!" Probably a gross overthinking of it, but what I have loved about Robbie's music ever since I was a teen was that he always appeared to be completely open in his songs.

Randomly woke up with this song in my head this morning. When I first woke up I couldn't remember who it was by, and because I was still half-asleep my brain was only feeding me small amounts of the lyrics, but then I remembered the chorus part "I know it's coming there's gonna be violence", without hesitation I opened up KZbin and typed it in and there it was. Hearing him sing the chorus for the first time in about 12-13 years bought back a flood of memories, and now this will sit in my favourites playlist forever!

[Verse 1] First they ignore you Then laugh at you and hate you Then they fight you, then you win When the truth dies, very bad things happen They're being heartless again [Chorus 1] I know it's coming, there's gonna be violence (Want you to love me) I've taken as much as I'm willing to take (Want you to be) Why do you think we should suffer in silence? (The heavens above me) When a heart is broken, there's nothing to break (Eternally) [Verse 2] You've been mixing with some very heavy faces The boys have done a bit of bird They don't kill their own and they all love their mothers But you're out of your depth, son, have a word [Chorus 2] I know it's coming, there's gonna be violence (Want you to love me) I've taken as much as I'm willing to take (Want you to be) Why do you think we should suffer in silence? (The heavens above me) The heart is broken, there's nothing to break (Eternally) [Bridge] All is wonderful in past lives Dreaming of the sun she warms You should see me in the afterlife Picking up the sons of dust When you think we're lost, we're exploring What you think is worthless I'm adoring You don't want the truth, truth is boring I've got this fever, need to Leave the house, leave the car Leave the bad men where they are I'll leave a few shells in my gun And stop me staring at the Sun [Chorus 3] I know it's coming, there's gonna be violence (Want you to love me) I've taken as much as I'm willing to take (Want you to be) Why do you say we should suffer in silence? (The heavens above me) My heart is broken, there's nothing to break (Eternally) [Chorus 2] I know it's coming, there's gonna be violence (Want you to love me) I've taken as much as I'm willing to take (Want you to be) Why do you think we should suffer in silence? (The heavens above me) The heart is broken, there's nothing to break (Eternally)

First they ignore you Then laugh at you and hate you Then they fight you, then you win When the truth dies very bad things happen They're being heartless again I know it's gone and there's gonna be violence I've taken as much as I'm willing to take But why do you think we should suffer in silence? When a heart is broken there's nothing to break You've been mixing with some very heavy faces The boys have done a bit of bird They don't kill their own They all love their mothers But you're out of your depth son have a word I know it's gone and there's gonna be violence I've taken as much I'm willing to take But why do you think we should suffer in silence? The heart is broken there's nothing to break All is wonderful in pace life Dreaming of the son she wants You should see me in the afterlife Picking up this son who goes When you think we're lost, we're exploring Why do you think it's worth some adoring You don't want the truth, truth is boring I've got this fever need to Leave the house, leave the car Leave the bad men where they are I'll leave a few shells in my gun And stop me staring at the sun I know it's gone and there's gonna be violence I've taken as much as I'm willing to take But why do you think we should suffer in silence? My heart is broken there's nothing to break
