Jumping in to say, Rob, that is a 30-60-90 triangle. It's sides all follow a ratio of 1-2-root 3, with the hypotenuse being twice the length of the short leg and the long leg being the length of the short leg times the square root of 3. So to find the distance the sensor needs to be from your tire, divide 6 by the square root of 3. Resuming play now.

For the front tire sensor place it near the top or bottom of the tire, like behind the top of the fender or just on top of the splitter and aim it straight(level with the ground) to the back of the car. It won't be 100% perfect but the top and bottom of the tire don't really change position very far and should be accurate enough for safe data results.
@lucassanches35682 жыл бұрын
at the trigonometry section, you needed to calculate the tangent; you had an angle of 60°, an opposite of 6', and needed to know your adjacent. We know tg60° = √3/1 = 6/X, so: √3x = 6 X = 6/√3 X ≈ 3.46 inches :)

I think you should have 2 percentages for the front and rear use instead of an AWD percent bar because 100% AWD would mean 50% on the front and back so 2 different numbers would be easier to understand the front to rear split. The 4 rotor keeps evolving and so do you both with the build well done.
@alexf55862 жыл бұрын
Look at Acura's Hud for their SH-AWD. It gives you live power split per tire. It looks so cool

let me preface this comment by stating that I actually don't know what I'm talking about this time That wire tied to the brake line at 16:00 makes sense considering turning and suspension travel but isn't it also a concern regarding possible melting if the brakes/lines get hot enough from track use? (I've seen videos of hard lines going red hot from stuck brakes but don't know if that's a concern with ptfe/braided flexible lines)
@RobDahm2 жыл бұрын

What's even more mind blowing in this whole wheel speed thing you got going now, is this is literally how ABS works. The only thing missing from your setup is the valve block to modulate each corner of the car and a pump (ABS valve block). This is literally the exact signals (individual wheel speed at highspeed, CAN signal resolution) your ABS module is looking at when doing an ABS stop. It's fucking awesome that you are able to implement this setup with an actual ABS specific module and basically achieve the desired outcome just by tuning the proportioning of the front and rear brake force. Side note: Every video of yours that I start watching and the first few scenes is you all giddy and opening boxes, I know I'm in for a treat. I know you have a VERY large following and have your feet in a bunch of different projects outside of the 3 and 4 rotor, and vette, but I still think you don't get the credit you deserve by essentially doing this all on your own (Joel and Isaiah, included in the "on your own" statement. Rob, as always, absolutely love your enthusiasm and excitement. Back to basics for a second though, the reason they call it a differential is because it allows for a difference in speed between the two wheels on that axle.
