@Kim B I haven’t got a clue what Fusion GPS is. But I’m gathering it’s some made up GOP nonsense about Hillary Clinton that has nothing to do with Trump’s collusion with the enemy that attacked our country’s democratic election in ‘16, and nothing to do with Trump’s obstructing justice by firing James Comey. Sounds like it (made up nonsense about Hillary Clinton, this isn’t about Hillary, has nothing to do with her, sorry) has everything to do with deflecting from Trump’s impeachable crimes.

Stars Align no it’s a way Clinton laundered money to pay for their acts of treason, it’s not nonsense. Please watch the hearings and see how transparent the left has become with their crimes, it might be tough to hear but the clintons are actually the bad guys. The reports that have come out show with FACTS AND EVIDENCE that the fbi is dirty and in the Democrats pocket, they intentionally have been trying to influence the election, and whether you think trump should be president or not, it’s treasonous to try to remove him or use the influence of the FBI to meddle with presidential candidates, and if you really think that’s okay then I don’t agree with you on the way our country should be.

I watched a lot of the near end of the session a second time. First time I thought Mueller seemed very tired and got confused a few times, but I didn't realize how long he was in session. The only times Mueller hesitated to answer immediately was when he was presented with questions including at least one double negative. Politicians have a hard time forming a simple question - fitting, because they can never form a straight forward answer.

I don't think a candidate can seek to run with an unfinished criminal investigation/impeachment encumbering their validity. Why would Republicans have used the report to say for certain that the president was innocence if it was done in a horribly and sloppy manner. They was already using it as rationale for why the president wasn’t guilty and had been exonerated by it. If it was done so poorly why not ask for a do over with somebody who wouldn’t do a poor job supposedly. To me that’s Blatantly showing there bias intent and that the motive here by GOP was not to find out if he was guilty or not but to try to make it seem as if the president was exonerated by any means and wasn’t guilty even If all information wasn’t available for them to get a conclusion. I just want Someone who will be looking out for the best interest of the country, not the best interest of there party and political Gains for themselves.

For some of those individuals, they like to mull over questions, so what may seem like a slow response is really a very well-thought-out, methodical response. I don't like how people are trying to characterize Mueller as being too old or too slow... He's just a very careful, thoughtful person who is used to analyzing situations before answering them. @IamJustJ.
@IamJustJ. 4 жыл бұрын
Given his reporting structure within the government and reporting directly to a representative of said department (of Justice, he had to follow the guidelines available to him. He later indicated (not even indirectly), when asked, said person (the PoTUS) could in fact be charged with obstruction of justice after he left office (he did not, however, state whether or not he thought the President would be found guilty in such a scenario because it wasn't asked of him and it would only be conjecture/speculation). I know people on both sides of this argument wanted Mueller to do one thing or another more definitively, but he has to follow the rules available to him. Otherwise, one or both sides could have justifiably said he wasn't following the rules and that he couldn't be trusted with the investigation. You can't have it both ways. Either he did what he was supposed to do within the rules available to him or he did not. Neither side, as it happens, is arguing he didn't do what he was supposed to or within the rules available to him. They're arguing he should have done more (for opposite reasons). Mueller would behave under a different set of guidelines and restrictions if he was acting as prosecutor and not special counsel. Let's not conflate the two. They are not the same nor should they be treated as such.

I would agree with that. The question was if it was generally possible to charge a POTUS that committed crimes in office for those crimes after he left that office - and the answer to that was "Yes." He did not say (because he wasn't asked) if he plans on doing so with the current one - or if he thinks it SHOULD be done. The problem with this is, that Mueller as a career lawyer has a very ... legal ... sense of what "guilt" is. He probably wouldn't be okay with calling anyone "guilty" unless and until they have been convicted. But as Trump can't be indicted, there can't be a trial, so he can't be "guilty". Anyone, including the POTUS is innocent until proven guilty. That doesn't mean he didn't commit any crimes; plenty of people out there committing crimes and being found guilty YEARS later...

@@Ameriguy99 Your snide remark aside, Mueller would have stated if he thought Trump was innocent. In fact, he made comments to this effect in both volumes 1 and 2 of the report. It isn't a question of innocent until proven guilty here. Mueller did not have an opinion until the investigation's details determined as much. It seems as though your points are more soundbites intended to make quick and pithy retorts rather than based on facts themselves. I read the publicly available document Mueller provided to Congress (not the redacted version). It matches with what he testified to Congress. What you just said doesn't. In terms of "lack of credibility", you seem to be excelling in your lack of same. Perhaps revisit your argument and try again.

@@IamJustJ. Nobody in the American judicial system is ever found innocent. Our system is built upon the foundation of a presumption of innocence. It's not Muellers job or his place to find Trump innocent or to exonerate him. His sole job is to investigate and determine whether a crime had been committed. His report and his testimony both state that his investigation was unacceptable to determine that a crime had been. He also stated before Congress that his investigation was never was never tampered with nor obstructed. You cant just dismiss the presumption of innocence because that's the entire point. They found no evidence of Trump colluding with Russia and were unable to lay down a charge against Trump. You cant just suddenly change the legal system and then claim that under your new invented system Trump is guilty of something. All American accused of a crime are granted the presumption of innocence...even the President of the United States. There is no such thing in our legal system as a prosecutor finding someone innocent
@IamJustJ.
@IamJustJ. 4 жыл бұрын
@@Ameriguy99 Actually, you dodged the point because you wanted to sound clever would be my guess. Mueller's report specifically said if they found evidence he wasn't guilty of any crimes, they would have so stated. It's not guilty until proven innocent. It's the presence of evidence that leads to some credible suspicion of a crime. Here's the thing though, and I think you're intentionally dodging it: Mueller didn't and couldn't indict on a crime as per the OLC memo to this effect in the department for whose rules he had to follow dictated. Mueller is smart enough to know innocent until proven guilty is our system of jurisprudence (as am I). He could not exonerate Trump because the evidence did not point to innocent. Nor could he indict because he wasn't allowed to do so under the above aforementioned rules. So, what could he do? Exactly what he did. Stop putting words in my mouth. :)
@Ameriguy99
@Ameriguy99 4 жыл бұрын
@@IamJustJ. if they found evidence he wasnt guilty of a crime?? That's suggesting that Mueller wasnt able to prove Trumps innocence and thus Trump must be guilty. It seems like your saying that you understand the concept of presumption of evidence and then point to a statement which showcases that the investigation did not use a presumption of innocence. Again it's not Mueller (or any prosecutor/investigator) to find evidence that someone is expressly not guilty of something. The subject in any investigation is presumed to be innocent unless a prosecutor can prove otherwise. In this case the prosecutor was indeed unable to prove otherwise. There is no such thing as " we did not find evidence that Trump was not guilty" it's an nonsensical statement and was rightly ripped apart in the congressional hearings because it's not a legal precedent. Just because Mueller states it doesnt make it a rational claim. Just like Trump stateing that the report "totally exonerated" him is totally incorrect as well as that's not within the power of Muellers investigation to exonerate anyone. Also Mueller stated before Congress that the reason he did not indict was because he could not determine that a crime had been committed....not because of a standing OLC memo. I can provide a video of him saying so much if youd like. Long story short. Mueller concluded that he was unable to find evidence of a crime haveing been committed and the was therefore unable to indict the President. He also stated that he was not obstructed in any way.

I think the reason he asked to repeat a question again and again is quite simple: If he misunderstands the question, he will probably give a false answer which leads to thousands of news companies quoting him on this error. A man in such a delicate situation is forced to phrase every sentence as exact as necessary! Well, if you're used to people talking in a shitty way like Trump, it's quite a difference.

I am not a lawyer nor do I play one on television, but from what little I do know of courts (and I have been on the witness stand once or twice), Mueller is doing exactly what you're supposed to do: answering the questions as briefly as possible, NOT offering opinions, NOT expanding on his answers. And "Can you repeat the question" is a time-honoured way to stall, stall, stall, while you organize your thoughts. :) It doesn't necessarily mean he was having trouble hearing.

It is a word used nearly every day in the world of prosecutors, defense attorneys and criminal courts. Which is the world in which Mueller lives and has lived for most of his life. He was talking to members of Congress, most of whom are lawyers. If you are unfamiliar with legal terms, you should not be surprised to find yourself "losing it" when you sit in to watch hearings of a Judiciary Committee and/or an Intelligence Committee that are all about legal matters. For similar reasons you would probably quickly lose it watching a cricket match.

mac daddy they’re actually just trying to get him to explain the reality of trump’s crimes in unequivocal terms that most Americans can understand. The attorney general wrongfully summarized the report as exoneration, which forced Muller to reluctantly make a statement and then eventually go to court and explain that his report certainly wasn’t an exoneration. This is what Democrats are up against. They have to constantly dispel overt lies, while Trump and his cronies crap out more lies at twice the rate. Once conservatives stopped caring about when their leaders were lying or telling the truth, we were already deeply imperiled as a nation. And that’s because it left only half of us to deal with the world and its problems while the rest of you played the victim and threw fits like children.

Agreed and i wouId say its because they needed to guide the answer down a specific pathway to get the desired yes or no answer to use as a weaponized sound byte to delude the base with. "Lead a horse to poison and force it to drink" strategy. Its such elementary school level framing, too.. Just all over the place. Obtuse and purposefully muddy questioning all around. Succint is not what the GOP was after at all.. They were looking to preach from the pulpit, discredit Mueller and his team, sow seeds of discord and doubt in oreder to protect their godhead and in doing so, their own systemic wealth and priveledge. That being said.. The Dem side was not better. One laser focus on getting him to say "trump colluded or obstructed..JUST SAY IT." what about tge rest of the report? The election interference parts? The other people involved? Mueller spoke on it.. "..russians are influencing elections as we speak".. Crickets, mostly. Establishment democrats are gonna be the next to go after the MAGA circus ends.. We tired of all this. From everyone. Congress needs to get its shit together and do its goddamn job or we need to really start organizing to depose them all, and begin again. If we dont do something as a people with a common goal of mostly survival.. Representative Democracy will die out. Historically scrapped constitutions result in open fascism and power via violence dynamics.. Nobody on any side wants that shit in their life. Dont we all just wanna be left be to do what we do? I mean..fuck..really? Is this what we fucking are? Idealogue and followers.. Regurgitated fear and displaced rage?
