If you enjoy ideas about masculinity and mastery, I invite you to explore the videos I share on the Mastery Order Channel. Challenge yourself with some concepts about manhood, explore your masculine potential to the maximum and become the kind of man you would look up to. We can only better ourselves together, as men among men, so I invite you to use what I share and, of course, share your own thoughts and opinions so that others can benefit from them as well. All the best to you!

Another way I think about Law 48: Assume formlessness is to be well-rounded in multiple areas of life, and not just rigid at one thing. Of course, according to Mastery you should spend most of your time towards your life’s task. However, if you’re above average in finances, above average in vocabulary and articulation, above average in appearance, physical stature, fighting ability, history, social skills, etc. etc. then that will add up to be really powerful. So I ideally you do a lot of this in your 20s and not waste time on superficial things. Don’t take this as gospel, feel free to disagree, but that was sort of thought-provoking to me.

One question I have for Robert greene . How the hell are you able to actually like people if you think like that. It's so goal oriented. Why not live just for the sake of living. There is such a big difference between how to win friends and influence people and any of Roberts book. While the first one forces you to think about others instead of yourself. The 48 laws of power seems really negative. The wording and the way you portray stuff seems dystopian and unrealistic. It's like a warzone

Don't outshine the master. Very valuable lesson for me. It's funny, I'd learned of this rule just after learning it the hard way. Although I'd not conceptualized it until reading it from Robert. Which is interesting, had I not read about it I probably wouldn't have put it together that what I did was a detrimental move. I'd have thought it was just some unpredictable situation and I did nothing wrong, but that's not true, I crossed a line that I didn't know existed, but should have known. Sometimes something can be right in front of you but it takes someone else to point it out or piece it together. Roberts good about that.

Not only has it allowed me to grip reality in ways I never thought would be possible, it has also allowed me to live by much higher moral standards. I first spotted this book in my mother's collection when I was in middle school or high school. Her library included motivational stories and some material on psychology. The reason I read The Laws of Human Nature initially was that, from a personal point of view, I never really believed in my dad's persona and felt he had an inaccurate perception of the book, and I found the concept of truly comprehending others to be appealing. The only way I became aware of the creation of this book was through a video featuring you and J. Peterson that lasted for 8 minutes. I learned the importance of adhering to rule number one through a trying experience, especially when I began working remotely due to the pandemic. I'm highly agreeable and I wasn't aware of my past traumas. In the end, I realized that most of my landlords were impossible to please and that my own needs with regard to work and well-being had to take precedence over their unmet wants stemming from childhood.

Law #48 is really the answer to people who takes every laws literally and criticize the book for any contradiction. Robert is right about Assuming formlessness because even if the list of laws of power works, it doesn't mean it can be used to every situation. Every event, every person, every circumstance is unique. The greatest power a person can have is having the ability to assess and determine when or when not to deploy these tactics accordingly.

This book could have been called _How to Be a Psychopath._ Also, some “laws” negate each other. For example: “LAW 6: COURT ATTENTION AT ALL COST. Everything is judged by its appearance; what is unseen counts for nothing. Never Let yourself get lost in the crowd, then, or buried in oblivion. Stand out. Be conspicuous, at all cost. Make yourself a magnet of attention by appearing larger, more colorful, more mysterious than the bland and timid masses.” “LAW 38: THINK AS YOU LIKE BUT BEHAVE LIKE OTHERS. If you make a show of going against the times, flaunting your unconventional ideas and unorthodox ways, people will think that you only want attention and that you look down upon them. They will find a way to punish you for making them feel inferior. It is far safer to blend in and nurture the common touch. Share your originality only with tolerant friends and those who are sure to appreciate your uniqueness.”

The laws can be situational.
@CrazyLinguiniLegs
@CrazyLinguiniLegs Жыл бұрын
@@cambrie7946 I get that. But even then it’s hard to reconcile these when he uses rather absolute terms: “NEVER get lost in the crowd…be conspicuous AT ALL COST.” Also, he’s talking about a general disposition to maintain in front of crowds of people: “Make yourself a magnet of attention…more mysterious than the bland and timid masses…” and yet “If you make a show of going against the times…people will think that you only want attention.” What? How can you adopt both of those approaches simultaneously. And again, he doesn’t describe these as situational methods. He describes these as LAWS that are valid for everyone at all times. Further: “Share your originality only with tolerant FRIENDS and those who are SURE to appreciate your uniqueness.” But he stresses in another law that friends are the last people you can trust, and that you can’t be certain that ANYBODY won’t betray you. So, what does all this wishy washy double talk amount to? Certainly not any kind of “laws”.

I would like to ask you how to find the equilibrium of delivering a good performance and not outshining the master? Last year I was in a very prestigious company, and some people tried to always make me feel that I don’t deserve the position, so to counter that I gave a really good performance , there was a time I try to act stupid but the more I do it the more they shot me down, so I lean on giving good performance, the top management really appreciate what I do but my colleagues and direct manager don’t appreciate it. Fortunately it was a temporary contract and I have learnt a lot . I would like to know your opinion about what should be the best move in that situation ? Thanks

I'm so sorry for you. I see you. The need to manipulate because unable to trust love. I get it but I don't agree. If we want to change society we cannot manipulate even more 😂

I just bought Daily Laws after I listened to the audio book Laws of Human Nature. I can't remember the last time I bought a physical book. Finding Robert Greene has certainly changed my perspective on a lot!!

Nobody needs anyone Mr green at the same time there is nothing wrong with with trying to help someone with problems or issues if they really are genuine about their issues we are all children in an abandoned orphanage must trust our healing comes from ourselves & each other people that leave are simply not strong enough to help you and simply not your tribe because they will misinterpret you the level they are at Avoid these people

Not trying to make him outshine any masters😅, but Robert Greene is, in my humble opinion, one of the greatest Americans there ever was.
