You often hear guitarists going up gauges. This is true of strings and picks. However I found I much preferred thinner ones, I adore the Dunlop Max Grip 0.60mm (just a thinner version of yours). Most people wouldn't like it but I love how it just flips off the strings, one would associate that with acoustic playing but I just really like the feel on electric. It's the feel in addition to the tone.

Hey Rob and the rest of the community. have you guys tried out the Dava Jazz Picks? They are flexible in the back and hard in the front. And they are a little bigger than the jazz III. And there are also dava delrin control grips which Cory Wong is using for his energetic funk guitar strumming. I always switch between them depending on the style. Thanks for the video 😊

Interesting, I used to use Jazz III a lot for metal music, but it can be used for funk too!

Damn, I’d never thought you were a Jazz III guy. With all that strumming? That is thick for funk. But you sound great so apparently it works! Never thought the difference of the attack would be so different om tape either.

I prefer sound with jazz 3

Thanks for the video. I currently use a 3.00 mm Stubby Jazz, which works very well for single string techniques but is hard for funky style. I have to try the Dunlop Jazz III that you use, which seems more balanced and can be used for everything.

Great sounds from all picks. Demonstration of your muting vs strumming technique, please.

I'll do a video on that at some point

I use 2 thickness picks, 1,5 and 1,12 mm(if i'm not mistaken) by Dunlop. With the thicker one, i get a more low end sound, as for the lightest one, it tends to bring more trebly sounds...

Great vid. I was using jazz stuby pick for years, just like you are and it is great for lines, riffs etc. However, if i want to get that nice clean funky chords, like Nile Rodgers for example (not the same of course :) ) i find Fender thin or Fender middle much better than fat picks. For acoustic i find big tortex picks just right. So, i think that there is no right pick it just depends what sound the player is going for. Also, i found out that playing with shoulder of the pick gives much "smoother" sound and feel than playing with the tip. That also makes a difference.

can you do a video on how to play the guitar to high tunes. It is one of me and my bands favourite Jamiroquai songs and I haven't been able to find a good tab online.

I'm a Jazz 3 man all the way! When I found the Jazz 3 XL's, I threw away all my other picks - except the regular "little ones." Have you found a difference between the red or black ones?" Some people say there's a slight difference. If there is, it's so slight, in my opinion.

I’m with you on the Jazz111’s. I’m so used to them. I tried some alternatives this past week actually. Just felt weird. I haven’t tried the black ones yet.
