Ever read Robin- Year One? It's a outstanding comic covering similar subjects, and simply due to the length it was a much more full picture of Robin's early years with Batman than this cover, by simple virtue of not just being three issues.

I find it interesting that they incorporated Killer Crock into the story, since he was the villain in the original Pre-Crisis Jason Todd's origin. An origin that was criticized for stealing the origin of Dick Grayson. To me it feels like an Homage to red headed Jason.

I loved “Robin & Batman” mini (and hope Lemire and Nguyen do a sequel 🤫(🤔I like more “modern” re-telling of the teen wonder Dick, Bruce, and Alfred) such as Dick getting out of the Bat-man shadow - although both are okay, I liked the OG transition Robin to Nightwing in the New Teen Titans than the Nightwing Year One.
@aviaveria83078 ай бұрын
I can't believe this wouldn't have happened if Nguyen hadn't practically begged Lemire to write it. It was a much-needed comic two years ago and it is a great second step of the Robin!Dick renaissance which Yang started and Waid continues.
@Ggggg-m2y9 ай бұрын
I think Dick Grayson is an essential part of the Batman mythos and the DC universe in general. Dick it’s allowed to change and grow. We see his evolution from a scared young boy to a confident and heroic man with his own identity outside of Batman. Dick in his early years makes Batman more hopeful and helps him keep his humanity alive. Later on he is the shining example of how Bruce’s parenting saves someone from their darkest moments. Bruce has admitted that Nightwing is a more pure hero than Batman himself and I couldn’t agree more. He is able to learn from Bruce’s mistakes but also his best traits as well as the love of his friends and found family keeping him going.
