Robin Cousins the master of the skid spiral. Between Curry and Cousins, England had figure skating all locked up! Back when figure skating was an art 🖼 instead of jump, jump and jump.

In my opinion this is one of the greatest figure skating programs ever created (and I've seen A LOT of programs from very different eras and skaters). The music, the choreography, the way the technical elements make sense with the music, Robin's sensibility and calm... Out of this world! I also give it a 10!

Божественное катание! 35 лет прошло , а как хотелось ,что бы в современном фигурном катании ценились скольжение и артистизм!

Oh, man... this was beautiful: the opening Camel Spin at 2:56; the "Rippon" Lutz at 4:57 (some four years b4 Adam was born); the delayed Lussi Axel at 5:49; the backflip at 6:06; the Toe-Walley at 3:44; the change-of-edge (and direction!) Spiral variation at 4:09; the "Arabian" cartwheel at 5:55; the bend-over flying Hamill Camel variation at 7:10. So many "old-school" technical treasures in so little time, all entwined with beautiful choreography!

Back before cramming triples and quads into programmes for tariffs when elements were complete without being rushed or messy and beautifully timed to the music. It’s become merely acrobatics on ice these days

Everything has a meaning and purpose in the music. And ALL is executed to perfection.

Superb skating, so smooth and seemingly easy.

Thank you for posting this - I really missed out on Robin Cousins' skating when it was happening. I'm so glad I can see it now.

Абсолютно талантливые ручки, и сейчас мало у кого из фигуристов есть такие поющие руки. И ножку в коленке чётко вытягивает никакого уголочка, чёткая прямая линия ноги.

I love Robin's skating but how can you get almost all 10s for "technical merit" with no triple jumps. I know technical merit isnt only jumps, but still.

roger leblond edge work, body position, speed & cleanliness of elements without pre/over rotation. It was a much more balanced sport back then. There has become an obsessive focus on triples/quads which detracts from pure/clean skating. If I’m doubt read the comment above!
