Also, robin and chopper seem to have a family-like connection as robin seems to do very well with children, and would use her fleur powers to play with him. And a final extra: robin is the only member of the crew that asks luffy to join his crew before he could ask her.

This is my favorite Strawhat and probably my second favorite character in One Piece. Although she hasn’t had as many fights as the other Strawhats, she had one of the best backstories, and one of the most touching moments in One Piece. Along with her devil fruit, her personality and her role in the crew also adds more to her character.

I was really glad when she joined the Strawhat Crew because she was more level-headed and analytical than anyone else on the crew. Having someone to act as a voice of reason without getting overly emotional was really needed. Also I love the scene at Enes Lobby with Robin shouting her wish to live. It serves as one of those moments when you know Luffy is ready to go all-in, and God help anyone stupid enough to get in his way.

Robin have so much potential to be one of the most powerful characters in one piece if only she was given extreme combats instead of just standing during fights. She said that her specialty was assassination but we were never really given a taste of Robin’s full powers. With her devil fruit and extremely large intellect she could have been a big asset. I used to think the same thing. I’m re-reading one piece and in chapter 710 Law calls Usopp & Robin “Sniper & Intel” respectively. Thinking about Usopp as the sniper is a given. We have to see intel the same way for Robin. Even if she can fight and is very strong, she’s better off not being one of the more publicized members as that makes being a spy easier. I commend Oda for not having her stick out too much. It makes her working in the shadows more believable and consistent.

I love Nico Robin, and I love Oda's story telling, but I feel like he missed an opportunity for a great scene at the end of the Enies Lobby arc. I think he should've had a short moment where after escaping the Marines, but before the Straw Hats burned the Going Merry(for reasons I would hope are obvious), after realizing that they had all escaped alive Robin takes a look at all of her friends and starts laughing like Jaguar D. Saul taught her to back in O'Hara. Everyone would look really confused for a moment and then join in her laughing. I know it probably would've been a really cheesey moment, but I fell like it would've been a great callback to her laughing with Saul considering how much emphasis was put on that laugh, and how she almost certainly hadn't laughed in the decades since then. I was really expecting that to happen in some way at the end of the arc once we got her origin flashback. Unless that did happen and I don't remember it? I feel like I would've remembered it if it did happen .....damn my selective goldfish memory, making me doubt everything I think I know.

That would indeed be extra cheesy and overly forced. Knowing the mechanic of the crew and their personalities, I can say for sure that they wouldn't have joined her weird laughing moment, that's just so unnatural of them. Plus, it would be out of character of Robin to laugh out loud like that, if anything, she would do a very quiet (basically to herself) dereshishishi just to honor Saul, like just remembering him briefly. And finally, it wouldn't make sense imo because it was supposed to be a mechanism to make her remember that even in bad times, if one laughs everything eventually gets better, or at least, it makes you feel a little better. The moment you describe is a moment of happiness, not sadness, so a dereshishi at that moment would feel out of place too.

Sanji's ain't that tragic , i think it's the most adventurous one , like he left Germa Kingdom , vanished with a boat , met some folks in the Grand Line , wished to be their cook , got attacked by Zeff , a storm washed them all away till East Blue , only Zeff and Sanji survived and afterwards they settled for opening a restaurant between the East Blue and the Grand Line.Approximately 10 years later , Luffy , Zoro , Nami and Usopp found Baratie.The rest is history.

The boy was hated by most of his family expect for his poor mother who he accidentally killed my giving her poisoned food, then he was staving with his mentor and saw the men ate his own leg to save sanji’s life. Bro when you get the full story of where he comes from, a family of super humans with no feelings and his dad being the absolute abusive asshole that use his children as weapons… bro Nami to me wasn’t that tragic, she had a happy ending and got her island back from the control of the pirates, nami had closer, many of our stawhats don’t have that.

@@lorddarkrai5753 Usopp for now has the least tragic backstory. But my girl robin takes the cake in my book, being hunted by the government since she was 6, after everyone she knew and loved got killed, her whole island destroyed. Robin had the story that made me legit tear up.
