1. Yes, he was the same older brother who kicked him out of the house, that happened a few years after he stopped coming to Rudues' room, he did something really bad to the point that his kind brother didn't forgive him 2. Rudeus thought about Zenith several times in the light novel, but there was nothing he could do for many reasons 3. Norn saw Rudeus as Paul as a symbolism that Rudeus was afraid of being rejected by Norn at that time, just like Paul was afraid of being rejected by Rudeus when he wanted to repair their relationship.

Zenith isn't exactly "missing" at this point, considering they've heard from Roxy what Kishirika told her about Zenith being somewhere under the labyrinth city of Rapan (so basically in a labyrinth, also suggested by the fact that Kishirika can't tell exactly where because the higher concentration of mana in a labyrinth would make it harder for her to pinpoint an exact location). Paul's old party was S ranked and used to go into labyrinths regularly towards the end before they split up, and he has one of the previous members (Talhand) about to accompany him there, and another (Geese) already having headed to Begaritt where Rapan is (ironically enough, he said he was going there episode 17, exactly a season ago). He's also being accompanied by Shierra and Vierra, as well as Roxy, who is in fact a King-class water mage (even though it would be a bad idea to use anything over advanced magic at most in a labyrinth because the area of effect is so huge).

He became a shut-in. His brother tried helping him out of that state. Rudeus didn't listen until his brother eventually gave up. 20 years later he became a repulsive creep and didn't bother attending his parents funeral. At that same day he got kicked out and he then met nanahoshi and the others. He saved one of the kids, but couldn't manage to save the others nor himself and got reincarnated.

6:18 The most terrifying thing about Rudeus being pissed like that is the fact that he can carry out with those threats and everyone there knows it, cause they all witnessed him blow up a demon king with one shot, what they dont know is that Rudy is also able to reduce the whole city to a crater if he wants to, only Orsted knows that, having received one of Rudy's nukes himself.

15:48 As far as Rudy knows, his mom is fine in a labirynth, she isnt in danger, according to what Elinalise told him in s2e04 and to top it off, quite some time before the sisters arrived, he received a mail from Paul telling he is on his way to Begaritt to rescue her, along with Vierra, Shierra, Talhand and, of course, Roxy. He knowing Paul and Roxy are on this, makes him completely trust that they will rescue her without question and he doesnt have any reason to worry.

The trip to Begaritt would take too long, so Paul's team would be on their way back already before Rudeus would even get there, plus Hitogami explicitly says he'd regret going there. The best thing he can to right now it to wait for news and hope everything goes alright. He has no reason to believe it won't go well either, they already know where Zenith is and Paul's a much more seasoned Adventurer, especially in dungeons. The same goes for Roxy, another dungeon expert. When the the two veterans tell him he's not needed, he believes it. And he does think about his family, just a couple episodes ago he was thinking how nice it would be if they all came live with him, how great it is that a former NEET like him could now end up supporting his parents in his own house. He's just not worried because everyone told him there was no reason to worry.

It also doesn't help that a trip to find his mother will take YEARS. She's in another continent, not even a close one. If he went to find his mother when he got Paul's first letter in S2 ep4, he would have just arrived Beggarit by now. Even if he travels there now, it's taking at least 2 or 3 years to get there and come back. Travelling isn't that easy in the MT world, and leaving your newly married wife alone for years really isn't a good choice.

The core of Mushoku Tensei in terms of themes is understanding, and family. Looking back on this story as a whole it really is something special. I wish I knew about the web novel sooner because I used to be a shut-in too, I feel like it would have helped me reflect on my situation more. I am glad I found it regardless.

Norn is like 9-10 years old(?) has had zero stability in her life since the mana disaster at age 3-4 in which she lost contact with her entire family save from her father, only met her brother once at age 5-6 when she saw him beat up their father with no context as to what's going on. I may get the ages a little wrong, I dont actually know, just remembering ages and passage of years that's been mentioned in the show.

Im not at that point in the novel yet but i think the reason hes not actively participating in the search for zenith is his change in mental state The ending of season 1 shows us his determination to find zenith because thats really the only thing he can use to push him forward. But ever since he found and married sylphie his priority is to stay alive for her so i understand his hesitation to jump up and go on a dangerous mission leaving his wife to worry alone at home. (Also he was told by paul to look after his sisters so he also cant really just leave them alone) Thats what i think at least

For a bit of missing stuf and extra context. Norn Greyrat Norn's time in Millis wasn't that grate, thers the fight between Paul and rudeus but allso she hated Her Grandmather, as a noble Lady she had high standards and expectations for Norne and was really strict, she allso said some preatty hurtfull things about Paul and Lilia, Norne really hated her grandmother As a Maid Lilia did put Norn's nescecities ahead of Aisha's but she was a Maid, not a Mother... She was distant with Norne, never the less Aisha's recented Norne for it, why she can play while I have to stay and clean? its no fair! why Norne gets better clothes! and such. Lilia never let Paul Dote on Aisha, it woud no doubd't spoild her in Lilias eyes and she had plans for Aisha. Lilia having no emotional inteligence cud never figure out why Aisha and Norne didn't get allong, and even if she did she she just made it worst, she tried to force Aisha to comply and just keept telling her to respect Norne and know her place, so no wonder Aisha used every oportunity she cud find to humilliate Norne and prove herself as "superior" Paul did recive the letter from Rudeus saying that he was living in sharia near the university of Ranoa and tought about sending them to him, Aisha was hyped, so was Ginger (Zanobas knight) but Norne wasn't happy. She ran twords the docs crying and she stumbled with a drunken sailor and he treatened Norne but was saved by Ruijerd who was just passing by, Norne recognize Ruijerd since he paded her head back in millis and gave her an apple, she cried in Ruijerds arms and told him everything she was frustrated, ruijert just hugged her and padded her head and Said her one thing. You need to become stronger, Norne some how got it if she was stronger she cud follow her dad to begarit or live allone, she was Forced to live with Rudeus becouse she wasn't strong enough, Roxy found her in the Docks and to say she was scared to see a Supperd woud be an understatement. Roxy raised her staff trembling in fear while telling Ruijerd to get away from Norne! Lilia just bowed and Said its been a while Mister Ruijerd Roxy oposed to the plan to let Ruijerd take them to sharia, Never the less Paul did trust Ruijerd and sended Norne and Aisha with him. Aisha was clever and had a way with words so when she had a plan Ruijerd and Ginger Leasend but dismissed Norn's opinions as childish or to selfish, Aisha was the planer Ginger and Ruijerd the muscle, Norne was the onlly one useless she felt horrible and afraid she cudn't sleep at nights and when that happend Ruijerd just sat her on his lap and told her Stories of the past, the war of laplace fallen camarades and Norne just leasend to him entranced, it allwas help her sleep, Rudeus was offten featured on those stories but Norne didn't like to hear abot him. the Rudeus in her head was to diferent to the person Ruijerd described, she didn't even want to think about him, Rudeus its a violent and terrible person, what if he gets angry? what if he kicks her out? she can't trust him she dosn't even know him thats when she started to fear Rudeus. when they arrived at sharia its mostlly as it was shown in the anime she feeling she had no alíes in her house, confused but happy that Aisha wasn't gonna go to school to make her miserable again, conflicted that her brother let her go to the dorms, getting frustrated for allways getting compared to Rudeus insane reputation, outraged by what Linya and Pursena where doing on her brothers behalf, humilliated by getting lost in front of Princess Ariel the most popular studant in school and surprised of how close she was to Rudeus Norn's its an emotional Ticking time bomb at this point then she shuted herself in when Rudeus enterd her room she was bearlly awake and tought it was an ilusion she just looked at him mumbling something with sorrow all over his face, by that point Norne had figure out that Rudeus wasn't as bad as she tought, she knew that he wasn't gonna hit her but she didn't knew how to talk to him he did look a lot like his father, it made sence since Rudeus was her brother, she wasn't afraid of him any more he looked a lot like how her father looked after the teleportation incident but why didn't he embrased her? Paul woud have gave her a hug, and Ruijerd woud have calmly patted her head why wasn't he? ah I get it. "He is Afraid, Afraid to get rejected afraid that I will turn him away" this is when she finally breaks down and cry her hearth out and let him finally get close.

Like it or not, Rudeus is becoming more and more like his new dad in this new world. That's why even his sorry face reminds Norn of the face her dad makes when he's genuinely tired and sorry. Seeing that face clears up any doubt in her mind about her familial connection with her elder brother

Yes but you should also know he isnt really a child and didnt act like a child either which made paul build/expect a sense of maturity from him, and he is stronger than most people. So back then for me both of them were in the wrong.

Language isn't really an obstacle I bet you could learn one just from being around other people that speaks it. And when you already know how to do math when you where 0 years old that will certainly give rudeus an advantage. In her perspective rudeus attacked their father for no reason. Norn has distrust on rudeus which is why she didnt view him as someone who is trying.

To be fair Rudeus isn't really attached to his mother in this life. Multiple reasons, like he only lived with Zenith for 7 years when on top he has a 34 year previous life, also he was taken care by the maid Lillia occasionally. Even if we don't count his previous life, he's 16 by now and really Zenith was in less than half of his life already. If you think about it, he's been with Eris for 6 years which is almost the same.

@@fakeninja4447 I’m not saying she isn’t important to him, she is, but Zenith and Paul aren’t his top priority, and haven’t been in a long time. Rudy tends to heavily prioritize what is directly in front of him, IE how he never tried to contact any family after the teleportation incident.
