Before watching your reaction, about turning point 2, something I think people usually don’t think about is that the reason Eris made the decision to become stronger and leave that letter was mostly due to their encounter with Orsted. So that means all of season 2 would be A LOT different without turning point 2.

Turning point 1 teleportation followed by the whole journey home Turning point 2 fight with Orsted causing Eris to leave followed by Rudeus dealing with his abandonment issues Turning point 3 Sylphie is pregnant and Zenith needs rescuing followed by... Turning points are always catalysts for a shift in the story, not necessarily a fight or crazy spectacle.

boy that hitogami fella seems more sus by the minute. if you think about it he told him to meet kishirika, basically making rudy avoid meeting roxy. he told him to not go to begarrit... basically extending/prolonging the amount of time Zenith is capture (who knows where and whats happening to her for all that time) now he is telling him again to not go to begarrit... while also telling him to do the dirty with either linia or pursena. there must be something fishy with this advice as well. man im getting so anxious with all that, that im thinking of buying all the LNs and just read them like there is no tomorrow

I think 2nd turning point focused more on rudeus' relation with eris, but as an effect of the events that occurred during the episode instead of it being the actual topic of said TP 2 episode. Meaning turning point episodes won't necessarily show their actual effects or aftermath inside the episode itself, but rather, TP episodes focuses on showing the causes. (not the effects.)

Exactly turning points are just big changes in plot or otherwise. Sometimes they will be intense or action packed. Other times maybe not so much. You said it perfectly even the pregnancy is part of the turning point.

I hate how they haven't showed Sylphy's hair growing longer, since that really helps to tell you how long it's been since the wedding reception, and she did say back then that she was going to let it grow out. That plus Rudeus really should be taller at this point, and they really need to fucking change his VA already. There's a bunch of stuff the anime isn't including that really helps to show the progression of time.

@@gil749 TP1: The mana displacement incident that is still a mystery to the Man God even after Rudy passed away. That mana calamity changed everything leading to Rudy meeting Rujerd making him travelled all the way to the Central Continent so that he would find his race and then died with the disease. And also Paul with the sisters. Also the first meeting with Man God TP2: The meeting with Nanahoshi and Orested, the Dragon God, opening up new connections that will be prevelant later on. And Rudy died for the first time indicating the lacking power of Eris making her leave him in the process after taking his first and let him take her first as a farewell gift. Leaving him with Ed and led him to the academy to marry Sylphie and found out about Nanahoshi being from the same place as he was but she got teleported NOT reincarnated. TP3: Fatherhood and him being the pillar of the family. And the death of that person left him with a lot of regrets that lasted up to King Vita's nightmare and until he turned 35, past his past life age promised to keep his family safe. Well I know my dude. I first dropped the show in TP1 with the Eris scene but decided to continue watching it after S1P2 came out and I glad that I did it. If I didn't then I wouldn't have read the amazing source material of Mushoku Tensei. Took me about 3 whole months of non-stop from morning to late at night to finish reading the entire WN, redundancies and everything that was related to MT. I even read the LN as well as the manga. But I consider the LN version to be the best out of all of them. But it was like 4 years ago since I finished reading MT and now I'm currently re-reading them to catch what I missed and to understand the story more on my first read.

And that led up to Rudy meeting Rujerd leading him away from the Demon Continent to the Central Continent making him to look for his tribe and easily get him infected with the disease. And also making Eris fall for him throughout this journey and put him on this pedestal that would be shatter in TP2. And also meeting Paul and his sisters. Bad communication leading Norn to hate Rudy but managed to make up with Paul and have his searching for his family in the back of his mind after he finishes taking Eris home. And also him meeting Zanoba and Eris met Cliff. With Eris and Rudy both met his aunt, Thereese (sorry I can't spell your name Zenith's sister). So the first TP can be summed up as displacement and connection TP2: The meeting with Orested and Nanahoshi. Showcase that not only Rudy knew Hitogami but there are others as well. And you can get donuted if you spoke to the wrong person (later he asked Badi to not donut him after he spoke the name Hitogami). And also broke the image of Rudy in Eris's mind that he can die that easily and how powerless she was. So that made Eris left him after getting his first and giving her first. Leading Rudy to get Ed and get cured later on by Sylphie and meeting up with the people he met along the way or their relatives. With Linea and Pursena being from the same Beast village as Tona and uuuh I forgot your name sorry. So yeah. It's also about meeting with old friends and new ones. And him getting to meet the one who cured his Ed. And also Nanahoshi, a person from his world. And also Badigadi and Elinalize. TP3: It's all about family, fatherhood and his role as the man of the household. And the demise of one person left with A LOT of regrets that he usually brought it up, what if I did this or If I were to improve this back then and all of that. And that regrets would all play a part in the Nightmare later on. And trying not to spoil much here. Oh and also Roxy. I honestly just read MT after the first season ended which was like 4 years ago? And I dropped it at the first TP with that Eris scene. I'm glad that I was able to watch it and read the entire WN, LN and literally everything MT related for 6 whole months non-stop. And I'm currently on my second re-read of MT of the LN. And I'm not an avid reader such as you, so I may get things wrong. That's why I'm doing a re-read to get what I missed the first time and understand it more.

I figured this would probably be the turning point, as it was the big unresolved plot point, but the added element of Sylphie's pregnancy and the extra emotional punch that added was a surprise. I do hope they don't do something cheap like have Sylphie lose the baby or die in childbirth (leaving things open for Eris or Roxy) - that would be dreadful. Fortunately, I think that they probably have very good medical care thanks to Healing magic and living at a magical university, so that shouldn't be an issue! Don't think the author is that mean, though. The Man God's "stay here and have an affair with one of the beast girls" came a bit out of left field, though I could see Rudy slipping a bit if he stayed away from relations with Sylphie while she was pregnant: that is how Paul got in trouble with Lilia, though I suppose in retrospect it turned out okay (Aisha), though that was mostly thanks to Rudy's own intervention and Zenith's generosity of spirit.

A good way to think of the Man Gods advice there is he was indirectly telling Rudeus to chill out and stay at home. He already knows his wife said that she is fine with concubines so when you think on it. "Stay here and have an affair with the beast girls." Is effectively just him telling her to stay put but with spice added to make it sound better.
