Thanks for posting this. I saw the Wild Bunch for the first time at 14. I didn't know why, but I was amazed by it. Having LQ Jones sharing his view on Peckinpah in a full interview is amazing.

This man did one of his best performances as a character that was a "split personality, yappy, unnerving, nare-do-well" on a Series show, Cimarron Strip, starring Stuart Wiseman, "The Search". He cracks me up and it was award worthy. My favorite "bad-guy"., the one and only, *LQ Jones.* God bless his Soul with Happy Bliss Eternally.

Two different schools of directing, Sam's, and Woody Allen's who said, hire wonderful people and stay out of their way.

Loved his scene in Casino with De Niro in his office

"you're a guest here,.. but you still think you're home". he sure made his time on screen count .a Western w/ out horses. Nevada is pretty far West, right? Scorsese and Peckinpah. 2 violent directors.

LQ held his own against DeNiro in that scene. He killed it! R.I.P.

Mr. Jones at 12:45 you said "if I'm so damned smart how come I ain't rich?" I think you are rich and you are smart. Really enjoy how he explains Mr Peckinpah's methods.

Absolutely! I love L.Q's sense of humor. He's a great storyteller. Did you watch the interview with R.G. Armstrong on my channel? He's also full of stories.

@@RobinSchoutenRS that's up for debate. I question Marlon Brando being credited as director. I cannot imagine him giving anyone any kind of direction. And you have to wonder why he tried getting Coppla & Scorsese at first to produce. And then he got Kubrick but when Kubrick heard Sam was coming on to write and produce he backed out as did they. I'm talking about One Eyed Jake of course.

I was always a fan of the Westerns and I always waited for the bad guy to show up. Now, you've got to admit that all of the stories were DULL until the bad guy showed up. I wouldn't want to work with Sam Peckinpah because he was a total ass.
@SusanH46262 жыл бұрын
I disagree with her. LQ was well established before any Peckinpa movie and so was Ben Johnson!
