The first movie was considered a super violent movie at the time and is the best in the series. The second movie was somewhat scary because of the unpredictability of Robocop 2 and is the second best movie in the series. The third movie was kinda shit and ended the franchise
@cattysplat4 жыл бұрын
@@3b0ny1 When I was a kid I got given Robocop toys to play with along with other similar 80's action heroes, when I saw Robocop the movie I was legit traumatised by it, had never seen such brutality in action scenes, most of this stuff was limited to horror films not mainstream action where most deaths you would not see much if at all or they would cut away. Ofcourse today especially as an adult this is all really tame, it's hard to explain just how clean everything was in a pre-internet age yet every kid had actions figures and merchandise from "adult" media at the time, like can you imagine preschool kids today going around with a John Wick lunchbox?

Probably after the first film gained attraction by younger audiences (oddly) they had to tone down some of the violence, the third film released in 1993 is without doubt the most tamest RoboCop movie in the original trilogy (exclude the 2014 Remake because that’s still shit in my opinion)

OCP’s biggest mistake was mistaking a cyborg for a soldier. Most of the time, it’s tragedy that separates those select few left with original humanity within them from those who’ve sold their souls to be renowned in this world. It was the Cyborg portion that over-rode OCP’s program, but it was the man’s humanity left intact that over-rode society’s corruption. It was the man who became aware that soldiers aren’t anything but pawns in a chess game dying solely for the lasting concealment of lies and protecting self proclaimed kings’ riches. In chess, the pawns go first, because they’re the weakest links never the ones expected to decode the secrets to winning the war of strategy; one of people’s greatest weaknesses will always be confusing power with position. Any king in a power position can become drunk off of that power as most do given various examples throughout history, and there will always be that one pawn only armed with an ideal/patience/wisdom/the will to act/the hunger to survive/the thirst to destroy his oppressor that overthrows every ruler. A man united under the tent of his own awareness and greater understanding of the animal side of him, and his own God given instincts.

For the movie that came out so long ago, Robocop's movements are so precise! Now, when we have actual robots from Boston Dynamics to watch, we can say, that this is exactly how a mechanism would move. I would even justify his poses when he shoots as a recoil balancing, wich still may be necessary since his gun is very powerful and his body not really made for a high caliber stationary shooting, but more for walking and communicating with civilians.

The arcade scene in Robocop 2, it would’ve been crazy to see a Mortal Kombat machine in the background somewhere. Lol

These are 2 of my favourite movies of all time. The soundtrack is unbelievable and beneath the shocking ultraviolence and expertly executed near-future sci-fi there is a very poignant message regarding the dangers and absurdity of consumerism, capitalism and corruption taken to an extreme, all topped off by the very deep philosophical quandary of what it means to be a man. I've watched them a million times and still stop to play a youtube video when it's recommended to me.

It's funny thinking back that the director initially didn't want to do it. If I recall right, he was downright offended to be given a movie called "Robocop" to do. But his wife read the script and convinced him to take a look at it because it wasn't some silly low-budget action movie like the title made it sound like.
