Watched Robocop with my wife just the other night. I couldn't believe that she hadn't seen it. She's not usually into sci fi and violent action movies, but she really enjoyed Robocop. She was finding so many nuances to it. It was also refreshing seeing it after such a long time, in the wake of all these modern day CGI block busters. I'm excited for this game!

I think we all know that there were many video games like this over the years. They can replicate the appearance and feeling of the original movie, but in the end they disappoint. Just like a Superman game, the main difficulty I see is how to make Robocop vulnerable enough to make the game challenging and fun. There is no fun if the game is just a cakewalk, but I love how they are making the movement realistic to the film. Of course Robocop didn't sprint or jump, so he needs to feel like a walking battletank...but how do they design him to be vulnerable enough to make the game challenging? I'm no Sandbox geek and I don't mind linear narrative-focused games, but games like 2018 God of War and God of War Ragnorak were open world, but not open like RDR2 or one of the GTA games...but that's what made them great because it was a tighter world with less filler and more meaningful side missions and areas to explore.

Probably you need to not be overwhelmed and have to watch out for larger caliber weaponry. Robocop can take a beating but unlike Superman he isn’t invincible.

Focusing on his human vs. robotic side is a fantastic take for a video game. Imagine having to choose which you prefer - his robotic side and you do tasks centered around vengeance and being a vigilante vs. his humanistic side and having to choose what you do to avoid “collateral damage.” It could also mean if you see more help from Lewis and her calling you Murphy or pleading with you to stop as you mow everyone down. Lots of potential that is still true to the source.

Wonder if we can view all the officers in DPD; Lewis, Reed, Cecil etc.. Looks like it. 0:31 - Looks like a recreation/flashback/visit to the site of Murphy's execution. Hope the game uses this event well, as Murphy's 'death' is a key piece to his psychological profile as Robocop. Who/What is that blurred figure near Murphy's body? 0:48 - Having Lewis alongside for the story, grounds Robocop and his identity. More of an opportunity for the "buddy cop" dynamic. Wonder if she'll be of assistance in some missions? 0:56 - My boy ED-209! Seems the unit still can't handle the stairs. From earlier trailers, looked like you'll even have the chance of fighting against one too. 1:09 - Cobra cannons? Multiple hostiles? The crane looks like that which dumped on Robo in the first movie? 1:17 - Unmasked Robo looks a little "last gen", but at least we see him without the helmet. 1:19 - Reed with a bunch of cops and ED-209s? Hostile to Robo? What is this ****? 1:23 - Fireplace looks similar to the one in Murphy's old home in R1. 1:24 - OCP Boardroom, in disarray? 1:25 - Is that Robocain!? I hope with so many subtle and not so subtle references to the movies in this trailer alone, this game is a real love letter to the fans of Robocop. Teyon already did justice with Terminator Resistance. I have faith they can do it again with this franchise. 🤞

This game looks epic. The attention to detail and the added scenes from the movies are cool. I love the first person shooting style and the different camera angles. The only other game i have seen based on a movie with this much detail is the Friday the 13th game on Xbox where you can play as Jason Vorhees.
