X1 Omni has the best mopping mechanism , it is the mopping pad not getting water enough to remove the stains....If you test again with third party (white) mopping pad, it allows water absorbing much better than the OEM mopping pad and see the mopping would improve a lot !! Yep I agreed that it is weird that everyone thought the rotating mopping could have performed better - YEP it should but it could not because of the OEM mopping pad issue!

Ive had s7maxv for about 3 months now and the only negative thing i have to say about it is the obstacle avoidance. Yes i understand that theyre constantly getting better but their ability as of now is very minimal. Especially with wires you just cant trust it at all which means you end up putting no go zones where ever you have wires usually laying around. Otherwise its absolutely fantastic machine. No doubt the best vacuum mop combo out there and i believe it will hold that place for quite awhile.

Show the Robo rock doing the heavy cleanup test and also have white or whitish carpet as part of your cleaning. Does the wet mop pad drag across and potentially stain or leave residue (grape juice or red wine etc) on the white carpet? It would be great if you can create a cleaning path for the hardwood then have it dock and self clean its pad before immediately going to the carpet. I have lighter(almost white) large area rugs in the bedrooms with hardwood etc.

if you have low tile carpet, it wouldn’t be a problem - the robot would lift the mop.

Also, you could set cleaning areas with 2 consecutive cleaning schedules- mop first, then it would return to the dock and clean. And maybe ~30 minutes later (depending on the size of your house) set it to run a vacuum pass. Or, you could offset them by a few hours to give the pad a chance to dry.

Which would be best for dog hair (two golden retrievers) and sand? We have 99% hardwood floors with one formal carpeted lounge. Also can you turn the moping feature off, so the robot just vacuums?
@RobomateTV Жыл бұрын
They should both be fine in hard floors with pet hair, it’s much tougher on carpets for obvious reasons. Yes on both, however easier on the MaxV Ultra.

Why are the brushes spinning when they are mopping?
@danielkinhoehong8029 Жыл бұрын
When the rotating pads rotate, they lift from the ground. Like the helicopter gets lifted from the ground. That's why I prefer Roborock's design.

I want and need this in my life!

none of the literature says how many square feet these can handle. we have a 2400 Sq Ft office with hard floors. can either of these handle this task? It's mainly dust bunnies and hair that it would be collecting. I see the Roborock's brush is easier to clean hair our of, so that is an important issue.

I have an Ecovacs T8 AIVI at the moment and it’s great, I am a happy Ecovacs customer but for my next upgrade the Roborock is in the lead for me. Just like your camera man the liftable mopping pad on the s7 Ultra is the killer feature for my mostly carpeted house. The one thing that worries me a bit though is your mention early in the video that only the Ecovacs has mop drying as standard whereas for the Roborock it is a difficult to get hold of add-on so smells can be a problem. What is this Roborock add-on? Does the base come in two versions, one with the mop drying capability and the other without, or is the base in some way modular and there is some slot where you can snap in an optional drying module? I didn’t really understand what was being talked about there.
@RobomateTV Жыл бұрын
There is a slot for the dryer module on the Roborock, but built in on the Ecovacs. Not always a huge deal - depends on your home really

I have the Ecovac T8 but will move to Roborock next time. The Ecovac app ruins the experience as you have to rescan your whole house every few weeks.

that's the third pass on the Omni because the passes never cross over previous passes as shown on the Omni map.

Good point - 2nd run, 3rd pass. Both robots did the same though :)

I don't get one thing...does omni have a water reservoir or only roborock has? I understand that roborock keeps the pads humid for as long as it has water in the reservoir but what about omni?
