Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar, a movie critic named Roger Ebert, and although his criticism skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. But I believe Roger can save the world.

Or it could you know just fucking rain and that would also stop the fire nation apparently.

Has anyone who’s watching this sketch ACTUALLY read Ebert's Review on "The Last Airbender?" The man after literally tells viewers to watch the animated show, stating that the movie would have been better if it remained a cartoon.

The original cartoon series was pretty good. The second one with the woke crap undertones was garbage.

Eberts evaluation of avatar was worth more than the money they burned to make that farce of a movie
@comicbookreviewer48563 жыл бұрын
The problem i had with the last airbender when covering it the film rushed a lot of growth with team avatar as in book 3 we saw theme grow and understand things in book 1 like Aang learning the downside of rusing firebending and Katara being angry at Aang fast learning and Sokka finding respect for Suki these are growth we saw theme in and learn to work as a team but rusing a plot with a movie destory that growth

When you realize making a movie based on the last airbender was a mistake as eatch story has more one thing leading up to it plus you had more time to get to know everyone and got to see team avatar grow up and become stronger

Well, Roger Ebert actually likes cartoon movies. He just hates bad movies. And The Last Airbender was a fucking terrible movie.
@Raidmasterprod3 жыл бұрын
He acutally reccomends watching the cartoon over the movie to "see what could have been."

I remember my dad liking the movie and I was so shocked that I actually yelled "Are you stupid? That dumpster fire was a bigger waste of time then trying to make a half scale replica of the Eiffel tower out of toothpicks!" I was grounded for 3 weekends and it would have been more if he hadn't watched the show and agreed with me.
@davidwilliams21353 жыл бұрын
That’s just unfair punishment for telling the truth, but I think you got hit for insulting your father. What you should have done after hearing him say he liked the “movie” was sit him down and introduce him to the real show. After each episode ask him what he thought of it, by episode three he should be renouncing the “movie” for the insult it is.

I liked the extra touch of every surrounding extra in this version of The Last Airbender being white. I don't know if that was intentional but it kinda fit considering all the white washing in that film.

Now this is how you deal with one of the last decade's most ever-hated movies, out of one of the most ever-loved cartoons in TV history, in the most funniest way. Even I could've done it better myself. In your face, M. Night Shyamalan!

But its a M. Night Shyamalan movie, he's immune to Eberts power. Otherwise they would have stopped letting in him make movies decades ago.

If they put that much money into the movie, then maybe they should have made sure it didn't suck before it's release. I mean, you'd think that the kid actors involved would have at least tried to tell the producers that it was bad before it was released to theaters.
@tgslayer47742 жыл бұрын

The movie represents everything wrong with Hollywood's ideas about cartoons that don't conform to the Disney or Western adult humor tropes. If you want to die on this hill, then go ahead, but there are plenty of movies out there more deserving of that defense.
@Warcodered013 жыл бұрын
it was especially easy to be a critic of this movie.

this was the worst butchering of a classic cartoon since inspector gadget ebert’s review was way more entertaining especially when he says aang looked like a young wallace shawn
@comicbookreviewer48562 жыл бұрын
the way i look at Ebert and Siskel reviews much in the day i would say Ebert was a just and fair critic and saw potential in things well Siskel was more of a acquired taste when it came to movies and quick to put things down too quickly even disliking movies that put kids in danger even know that point in the plot builds the main hero or the parents going in to safe the kid and do the right thing
@Warcodered013 жыл бұрын

In my opinion, I don’t think the movie is that bad. I actually love it. I think the cartoon is garbage (again, just my opinion, I’m not causing fan backlash) in its storytelling and personalities of the characters, but still nice to look at from time to time. For those of you who like the show and for those who don’t like the movie, I respect your opinion.
