Milk in first when you make an old skool brew with tea leaves in a pot and tea strainer. Milk in last with a tea bag coz the milk will lower the temperature of the boiled water. I like all the teas except earl grey. Yorkshire is my fav at the moment. I have a mug on the go now. Strong. :-) :-)

Lidar is far superior to cameras since it isn't affected by similar colors, shapes, or lack of light. Lidar can detect objects in total darkness and differentiate between foreground and background. Lidar stands for 'Laser Imaging Detection and Ranging,' meaning it can measure precise distances between objects without the visual flaws inherent with cameras. It may be more expensive, but that's because it is a superior technology that will save lives when implemented in autonomous vehicles.

The ONLY way autonomous vehicles can work is if ALL vehicles are autonomous. And unless a government will replace people's cars and trucks at no cost then we may never see this tech on the road. Thankfully. So, figure twenty years past the sale of the last regular car.
@TheWallsocket5 жыл бұрын
They might be able to make certain cities autonomous-only within city limits in the nearer future than that (by 2040 maybe?). I think that’s what we’ll see first, in a city like San Francisco or something where the voters will happily go into billions of dollars of debt to test out some new “green” tech.

Fair play to Guy, when he was coding that glorified coffee machine I was getting so bloody bored, it's like maths. Bonkers how much code goes into all that stuff, and that was just a simple device. It's really interesting how the autonomous vehicles see but that needs to be tested to breaking point over and over again, that's how you learn.

After we do away with all of the higher paying truck driving jobs, that will be one more industry that will lose a lot of jobs. It will, at best, be a limited number of jobs lost, but the same thing was said about robots on car assembly lines in the auto industry. Look at any car manufacturing line and in some phases it's almost all robotics. It's good news for the corporate bottom line, but a lot of jobs that were once high paying are disappearing. When you replace higher paying manufacturing jobs, or lose them over seas, your economy becomes service oriented (do you want fries with that?), with much lower wages. It will be interesting to see how it ends up.

Yeah it's nice and all but it cant sign paperwork if needed and more importantly it cant change a tire or fix a glad hand seal or a fuse or anything that's small enough for a driver to fix and not have to wait for a mechanic to come fix it. It has it's ups and downs but I think the biggest thing is that nothing is perfect. Computers do shut down and if it's down how can the receiver of the load sign for it? So I think its good to have the truck's but must keep a driver in it at all times for the back up incase the system shuts down or anything else that the driver can fix and get the wheels rolling again. Does the system think of different routes if the interstate is shut down bc of a wreck with a fatality? I can keep going but I won't. I just wonder if the people coming up with this has even talked to a driver about it and got his info about things. I drove for 12 years and love it and will go back to it. Driving a truck has been in my family for years and years. I decided to take a break from it for a few years bc I never got to see my family and missed 3 years of my first son's life bc I was otr. Now I got another son and I'm not missing all this again. Trucking is in my blood and it will always be. 379 ext hood flat top with silver and blue paint and lots of chiken lights and seat flat on the floor is the only life.
