I don’t understand how the dialed knows when a working combination is found. Since there is no real feedback other than maybe some tiny change in resistance on the stepper motor when.. I would obviously assume that one would have to put some kind of tension on the opening mechanism or something so that once a working combination is found, mechanical tension prevents the dial from turning or something like that. Could someone explain this?

it tests 5 numbers PAST the drop in location every time. when it stops it is read as open and the combo is recorded.

@@hkssystemslocksafe2486 did some digging. Most of them stop immediately. Turns out I was on the money with the feedback loops. They are looking for tiny changes in mechanical force on the stepper motor, with its pmw driver voltage and current being monitored. Some might also use other methods on top of that but that’s the main feedback system that enables a “correct” entry to be detected and logged.

the dial will come to a positive stop the dialer recognizes that and knows it has the correct numbers. It will then leave it in an open position or rescramble combo and email me the numbers.

@@brocktechnology that's NOT how a safe lock works, the handle will always work unless it is blocked by the lock. The dailer only opens the lock. You don't need to try the handle it's independent of the lock and dial section.

My gun safe has an S&G lock on it but it operates differently than the video that I saw on the 8500 (i.e. you do not have to rotate to 0 at the end and press the dial in). The X10 looks to basically be an electronic lock, but with a somewhat classic style dial interface (albeit with a LCD display built into the dial). If there are not any mechanical stops on the X10, I can see how it might not be conducive to the sort of brute force dialer that you were using in this video.

@@parzivalit9860 I 100% agree he is good, the sparrows lock is really not a top quality lock honestly it is a little more forgiving to teach the skill. I think a real lock from S&G or Legard would be a little more difficult to open. Not saying CAN'T be done just more difficult.

with it dialing that fast, the wheel pack will soon heat up, expand, cause resistance in the dial and the motor will stop, thinking the safe is open

Gene-not true speed dialing is pretty hard on lock and I ALWAYS suggest replacement but it won't heat that much plus you can adjust the speed of dialing as well if needed.

Also with EVERY lock there is a forbidden zone so in theory 1million on a 3 wheel doesn't really exist,since there are forbidden zones that can't be used. Either way lots of combos. The system can't do direct entry models rither..everything has limitations
