I really like raczki 😛 And to answer your question about less flavour in children's food - they are not used to strong tastes yet so it has to come gradually.
@aimfuldrifter8 ай бұрын
As a Pole I always preferred the Kit Kat. Its chocolate is better IMO. Apart from that I probably would agree on most of your reviews. The Star crispies are a little bit too artificial for my taste, so I buy Przysnacki instead. They have really good lentil crisps. I don't think I ever tried the Bonnies. I like your reviews because most people just base their ratings on simple "great", "OK" or "bad". You on the other hand compare and get into details like texture which is awesome.

About that "tasteless" things for children. ;) During life we lost our taste buds gradually. What is percieved as "tasteless" for an adult is usually more filled with flavour for a child. This is the same reason why elderly often say that "nowadays food is tasteless, not like back then" - food didn't change, but their amount of taste buds and ability to taste flavours did. If you give the same piece of any food to child, adult and elderly person you'll get three different opinions on it's taste. And everyone will be correct. ;) So it's not that "child food is tasteless". It is tasteless for adults and normal for children, which helps them form healthy dietary habits. :)

Rob, during communism in Poland, children did not have chocolate, any nice soft cookies, etc. But they had hard lollipops and hard candies. At the same time, there were plenty of soft sweets in England. That's why, unlike people raised in Poland at that time, you bite into sweets. In Poland, children learned to lick, suck, and not bite. This applies not only to hard candies and caramels, but also to slowly chewed sesame seeds snacks - which, when eaten quickly, have a bitter taste. Try to take a raczki or a kukułki and just slowly suck it. Then try to evaluate tchem. Translated by Google translator

I think you should make whole episode about peanut snacks. My fav is "Curly" from Lorenzo - they make a lot of crisps. Curly is basically small size corn puffs but with peanut butter. Very recently they made new flavour - peanut and salted caramel which just added layers of flavour (salted caramel and peanut is only available in żabka) Also Wawel makes 3 pralines - malaga, tiki taki, kasztanki. Very worth trying. One of them is with rum, forgot which but tiki taki is coconut and peanut and chocolate is darker. Verry addictive

Raczki are one of the classic Polish candies. They exist at least since my childhood and I live for three decades already. Not sure which came first, but WW was also available when I was a kid. Kitkat came to Poland far later, but I assume they existed around the world before. Also my first thought about these junior biscuits was "will they have no taste like stuff for kids usually do?". Lol. But I must confess I never seen these pretzels or dr. gerard candies. I haven't eater Bonnie either, but I think I had something similar. As for Star twistos, I don't know if they are the same, but there were snacks called Twistos (without "Star" iirc) when I was a kid too. They were "more sophisticated" snacks if You can call it that. When everyone are Cheetos or Lays (Walkers equivalent), Twistos were for those with "better taste for snacks". Similar to Crunchips.
