Been watching my man for years. Came here to reminisce. You've been here for a while Rob, can't thank you enough for the knowledge you've imparted over the years. Stoked to see you still nailing it consistently 👌.

Rob it's fantastic that you're still uploading quality videos, plus that opening of the video looks solid. However, I think a microphone would be a good investment as the music of the gym in the background seems to interfere quite a bit and makes hearing quite difficult. Other than that, it's all top draw mate - Still 10x better than Mike Chang :)

rob you're a beast man, you used to throw around 2 plates on incline, you need to resort back to that power style training for the size that won you your competition last yr. you are lucky enough to be friends with mike ohearn, he always said once you drop the weight you start fading away. i understand avoiding heavy squats and deadlifts for heavy weight bc of injury risk, but unleash the beast on the upper body stuff like bench, barbell curls, etc. you're big as is and you'd only get even bigger!

Guys, Rob is not on steroids. Do you see the weight he's doing? Just because someone is genetically gifted doesn't mean they're on drugs.

viktor stupp Oh god, you know nothing ... Do you know that steroids makes you stronger as well? Rob is a fitness model, he doesnt focus on strenght, he focus on his looks ... wich mean high reps, not low reps for strenght.
@TheSport78
@TheSport78 10 жыл бұрын
viktor stupp Okay, can you tell me what he tested positive for? He was taking an OVER-THE-COUNTER supplement that had a banned substance in it that Rob was UNAWARE of.
@asdffdsafdsa123
@asdffdsafdsa123 10 жыл бұрын
Erikk1992 actually i've had over a decade of experience with steroids. Of course they made him stronger. He started as a piddling weakling benching 50kg, starting taking more and more gear till he could bench 100kg for reps. Then when he lowers his dose to get his bloodwork in order his strength goes down, hence the 80x10. Ive seen it time and time again, with guys i sold steroids to, its just what happens when meatheads who dont know how to work out want to get big.
@boneTHUGS111
@boneTHUGS111 10 жыл бұрын
viktor stupp not necessarily he could just be weak. i know dudes like this who are big but weak. who are def not on roids. the guys i know who are on roids are strong as fuck though, there strength rockets within a short period while on it. no one should listen to this dude if they want to get big though. this dude has great genetics but is a complete bro! the shit he spouts! lift the fucking weight rob! stop talking shit! he must have met so many dudes with so much knowledge on different training styles but he always does the same shit!

Very good advice, tips etc Rob. I also enjoy your nutritional clips a lot, very helpful. Regardless of Roids situation, you're very weak for all those years if training. @wtfnamestaken1 10 жыл бұрын
***** vycka vyckaa I understand and agree with all that you said, but are you seriously going to argue that it is normal for someone who has been training extensively for 5 years+ to struggle with 80kg on the bench? All I did was point out the natural process that is happening in his body. Steroid users have so much testosterone in their bodies that eventually they stop producing it naturally. Hence now that Rob is off steroids, his test levels are probably very low, which explains why he would struggle with such low weight. That was all my comment was about.

This is the best and real way to work out, it's good form that matters and full range of motion not heavy weight. The weight is just the tool. Those who say he's on steroids don't know what the fuck they're talking about and should shut the fuck up. Steroid users usually can perform a lot better than Rob and with a lot more weight. That's what steroids are actually doing, they're helping you workout longer and recover faster, Rob is awesome and he's preaching his way and his body is by far one of the best in the industry
@KillZilleR
@KillZilleR 10 жыл бұрын
What I don't get is how people say Rob is on steroids, Sure he is very lean. But he's not unnaturally strong or big, he has been training for many years as well. Plus he doesn't actually weigh all that much, he has just got great genetics which literally make him look bigger than he actually weighs. Fair enough he did fail his drugs test for whatever reason, and who knows maybe he is literally on a stack of steds, but me personally I just don't see the point as it wouldn't help him gain much really, his gains have been slow and steady tbf.

he probably wouldn´t do it if he had any sort of pain or discomfort doing it like that....and obv has been working for him....besides what you are describing is more of a powerlift setup isnt it
@NinJaTrainee
@NinJaTrainee 10 жыл бұрын
You're talking about proper form on a heavy max rep bench. Sure it may help reduce the propability of an injury to tuck the elbows. But I don't reckon he'd go ham if it hurt his rotator cuffs.
@quintusliu4283
@quintusliu4283 10 жыл бұрын
maxpf after the session with mike o'hearn he did learn to bench properly. dont know what's up with this guy, he looks smaller and weaker and probably set himself back a few years. by the way it's not just a powerlifting setup, it's the correct set up to recruit your chest and save your rotator cuff
@maxpf
@maxpf 10 жыл бұрын
but in that video ohearn showed him the "powerlift" bench press...i do think his method does recruit the chest more, because that is just what bodybuilding is about...it may be that that is not optimal for his rotator cuffs but i think he wouldnt do it if it hurts him....45° angle of your arms just recruits more of your triceps (safer for your shoulders when benching heavy aka 1RM etc --> powerlifting)

I can lift up to 100lb dbs on incline press. I fucked up my ac joint a few weeks ago and have been going light on incline db press...roughly 50 to 60lb dbs, going nice and slow and contracting the muscle, and I must say it gives you a ridiculous pump.

don't listen to this guy. Progressive overload, aiming to lift heavier and heavier each session is more important than this 'feel the muscle contract' bullshit. If you perform the compound movements heavy enough with good form, how can you not use the correct muscles? good luck gaining any size or strength lifting pussy weight while contracting your little muscles
@thegarbageman21
@thegarbageman21 10 жыл бұрын
lol plenty of people do that and are much bigger than many powerlifters. Couple buddies of mine have huge backs and legs and they rarely squat / deadlift. They do that "feel the muscle" bullshit lol... It works for some people. Not everyone responds maximally to the same routines.
@quintusliu4283
@quintusliu4283 10 жыл бұрын
but I bet they progressive overload on the movement they do, not just take a light weight and do it slowly while feeling the muscle. also don't forget the drugs these bodybuilders and fitness models use which add more size than strength

He is only trying to teach people that good form is very important. He did say lift weight that is challenging, but have good form. Doesn't matter if he is "natural" or not. He makes a living doing this. He doesn't give outlandish advice, his advice is pretty solid for large demographics.

Sick of all these comments about him using steroids and what not. He's up there with some of the top fitness models in the world so of course he would be on something, but do people seriously expect him to come out and confess that to the world and thus lose contracts,sponsors and money. Its not right that he claims to be natural when he clearly isn't but if you earned as much money as he did would you?

People are talking s#it about him just because he was using steroids. You need to have proper form, dedication, diet, rest etc to get to this level "steroids wont do s#it if you dont take care other things". I dont understand why people are so concerned about the weight he is lifting, if he can maintain that physique with less weight what's wrong with that, he is not a powerlifter. Haters can unsubscribe and F%&k off.
