Brian May is actually Dr. Brian May. He is an astrophysicist. His PhD thesis a survey of radial velocities in the zodiacal dust cloud" was published in 2007 and is a popular astronomy book of the same name. He started his research in 1970 and then stopped to run around the world in this rock band named Queen. Maybe you've heard of them maybe you haven't I had to Google them. That's sarcasm. The megaphone in a prop. Mitch does not use it in the live performances. the voice you hear when they're looking at the stars is the same voice Mitch uses with the megaphone . The shot at the sky is homage to Brian May. Brian May was so impressed with the video that he posted it on all of his social media sites. The shot at the end when they're looking up at the sky always puzzled me because there are four shooting stars and I always wondered about that because there are 5 members in PTX. I read in a comment that it's an homage to Queen because there are 4 members in Queen. At least that's how I interpret the shooting stars. The moving couch pays homage to how they started. After Sony drop them they did their own videos and uploaded them to KZbin. They would just be sitting on a couch with a camera aimed at them. I think they did them all in one take because they didn't have money for post-production or editing. Thank you so much for including the link to that live video. I had never seen it before. I have found so many interesting little tidbits by combing the comments section in reactor's videos. That was simply amazing. I'm seeing them in September 2022 at the Hollywood Bowl in California. Now I just have to hope that my car holds out for the drive from Utah.

If you don't like the boxes, react to music that they performed before and after the pandemic. During the pandemic they each had basically a recording studio in each of their homes so that they could record their parts and send them to get produced into the boxy videos you see. They released an album called, I believe it was called _At Home_ ( and I hope I don't lose my Pentaholic's Union card if that's wrong) and all of the songs on that album were recorded during the pandemic, so they were never in the same room together. Which just underlines what amazing and talented musicians each of them are.

Excellent reaction 👏. What gets me is how they paid tribute to Queen. So many instances of the original plus when they panned to the stars it was for the four shooting stars for the band members and for Brian May who got his degree in astrophysics. Great tribute! Please do more PTX.

Their goal is always not to be BETTER then the original, but to pay HOMAGE to it! They worked for 5 years on this, just to get it right!

There's a video documenting how they made this. All filmed at night, on a road (you can see the broken white lines down the middle of the road when the couch is moving). The couch isn't properly balanced because of the motor and wheels raising it off the ground, so several times it tried to tip over when they were climbing on it, and in the final shot, where the room comes back together, it managed to break the lamp. Filming out of doors at night also explains why they're all wearing jackets or hoodies.

👉👉Don't sleep on Scott!! He does SO MUCH it tends to get overlooked that mid range you hear is mostly Scott!! He is either harmonizing, 2nd bass, hitting falsettos or taking lead. He has an INCREDIBLE vocal range he is such a vocal chameleon! Avi's bass and Kevin's beatboxing is INSANE! Kirstie hits her soprano and easily glides into alto to assist THEY ARE "ALL" AMAZING!!

Kevin was very worried that he wouldn't do the percussion justice, but he did. They were pretty intimidated at the thought of covering this, as it is such an iconic song, and they worked on it a lot to get it perfect. I'd say they succeeded. I really enjoy your PTX reactions. I look forward to more. I suggest reacting to a live performance of "Joyful, Joyful", which they sang on their Evergreen Christmas tour. If you put "Joyful Pentatonix evergreen live" in the search bar, you'll find it. It's amazing. I saw them do it live. Thank you!

Ooo!! By boxes you mean for filming the videos? Yes ,, the newer songs that were filmed during the pandemic like 90s dance music were all filmed remotely and edited back together.. but that’s just for songs realized 2020/2021.. Amazing Grace was the first one after the pandemic filmed in person

As a rapper, have you listened to any Pentatonix where they rap? They can all rap, but particularly Mitch and Scott? Try 'Can't hold us' the Macklemore and Ryan Lewis cover or Ariana Grande, Problem. The best rapping they do is on their Superfruit channel (Mitch and Scott) on 'Feeling Myself' by Nicki Minaj. It's incredible. They change the lyrics to fit them.

Queen and Pentatonix are the only groups I've heard that can sing this song and do it justice. I believe there's a split screen video of Pentatonix and Queen doing Bohemian Rhapsody side by side, and it's virtually identical regarding tempo, pitch and quality.
