Each consecutive generation for the past 70 years has become more and more inept when it comes to practical solutions to what used to be basic everyday problems that you'd simply fix yourself. My dad was born in the 40's. He bought his house in 1978 and renovated the entire thing himself. If a pipe bursts in the basement, he doesn't need to call a plumber. He closes the valve to the water supply, cuts the burst pipe and solders on a new one. About 5-6 years ago he changed all the galvanized steel pipes in the house to copper pipes because the old ones were clogged with rust. No plumber needed, not a single cent spent on professional services. If his car breaks down and it's a problem less complicated than the engine literally blowing up, he doesn't need to take it to a mechanic. He just fixes it. If he needs a new water heater, be buys one and installs it. If the furnace breaks, he does the same thing. The guy even replaces the radiators if necessary. He fixes glass panes, fits new windows, paints the house, fixes the roof. When I was young he replaced the whole roof. All of it without help from anyone. No friends, not handymen, nothing. Sometimes I think my generation from the early 80's was the last one to actually learn how to fix the engine on a moped or a lawnmower. Knowing how to cook your own food seems to largely be a lost art. People either call DoorDash or go to a restaurant to eat. Nowadays, fixing something almost always requires a special interest about the thing in question, and when something does break they pick up the phone and call someone who fixes it for them. If catastrophe strikes they wouldn't be able to survive. If the electric grid went down they would absolutely suffer. People largely lived without electricity just 100-150 years ago, around the time my grandparents and their parents were born. Love love LOVED the video. I think the ludwig part is a little off in comparison though tbh. The fansly shit is actually unacceptable imo, but i do genuinely think he tries to remove that parasocial side as best as he can. He misses the mark obviously, but the attempts and effort is there to see. Especially when placed next to his contemporaries, he’s doing a far more active job of marking lines on parasocial relationships

I don't even watch Twitch but I know enough about that platform to confidently say there are many disengenious part in this video. Tho most of it is undeniably true for sure.
