Mini has the voice of an angel! great record and great album. A lot of people don't know that Stevie Wonder co - produced the album (he didn't produce Lovin you) Also that piano riff towards the end of the record is legendary in hip-hop. A tribe called quest sampled it on the track 'Lyrics to go' from their classic album Midnight Marauders.

She is the Mama of Maya Rudolph former SNL alumni. When Maya came back to host SNL some years ago, she honored her mother during one of the breaks where they have the still photo of the host. She dressed in the same blue jean jumpsuit holding an ice cream cone like the cover of her mother's album. At that time I don't think alot of people knew Maya was Minnie's daughter & might have missed the tribute unless they knew. You can look it up online to see it. Gives me chills because Minne died of breast cancer when Maya was very young. I think she was 9.

Minnie was a gift from the sounds of heaven. "Will you come inside me" was more of a metaphor for two people being as one. It is often interpreted as sexual but it was not necessarily the intent. The song is like a beautiful painting by an artist once completed, It's meaning can vary by the viewer or in this case the listener anyway they feel it. Which makes it a masterpiece.

Minnie Riperton is, and always will be, FANTABULOUS. Other favorites of mine by her are "Les Fleurs" and "Reasons". And the lost gem, " It's So Nice (To See Old Friends ", I never tire of. It's got a little country flavor to it. I used to think it was Olivia Newton-John on backing vocals. I've always loved listening to " It's So Nice..." and Olivia's song "Sam" back to back. "Inside My Love" appears in Quentin Tarantino's JACKIE BROWN with Pam Grier. And "Les Fleurs" appears in Paul Thomas Anderson's INHERENT VICE. And the icing on the cake is that Tarantino and Anderson are friends, and Minnie's daughter Maya Rudolph has been Anderson's longtime companion for over a decade. "Les Fleurs" is also used well in Jordan Peele's US, albeit for a different emotional effect.
