When I was married to my first wife we lived in Southwest Michigan and her mom lived in Ohio about an hour south of Dayton. We would travel there several times a year to visit, this would have been back in the early 2000s. There was an area we would pass through where there was a radio station that Garth Brooks had bought and it would play only his songs 24 hours a day. Every time we hit that area I would tune it in for as long as we were in range.

When Forrest Whitaker first invited him out to LA to watch the movie without the soundtrack, he asked Garth to play him a rendition of that song, and he recorded it for reference, then went and recorded it at Allentown, his studio in Nashville. He goes to the premiere, the song starts playing, and he realizes it's not the studio version. They put the raw version they recorded in Forrest Whitaker's office, in the movie!

Oh I'm so glad your doing Garth AND you found a KZbin video of him actually singing. Something thats extremely hard to do. Most songs are covers because of how strict he is on copyright, etc. Garth is an amazing singer and songwriter. I will never forget seeing him at the Bryce Jordan Center after he came out of retirement. He played til 2am and he loved every minute of it. There is no bad Garth song. He's definitely on my bucket list of live shows to see... Another country artist you should check out is Dwight Yoakum. Some songs from him: A Thousand Miles from Nowhere; Streets of Bakersfield (with Buck Owens); Suspicious Minds; and Guitars Cadillacs. :)

I've been lucky enough to see Garth in concert twice. Once at the small Wiltern Theater in LA at a private party for Capital Records at the beginning of his career and 2nd at the massive Pacific Amphitheater in Orange County. NO ONE can command a stage of any size like that man! From his softer hits like The Dance, to his standard hits like Friends in Low Places, and even of his cover of Billy Joel's You May Be Right (I May Be Crazy), he is a force to be reckoned with! If you can find a link to a live version or are lucky enough to find the official video (which is even more powerful) I highly recommend doing that. Even if it's not a reaction. In the 1990's, Garth Brooks WAS country music. You could not turn on a country radio station and not hear a Garth Brooks song within the first 15 minutes of listening. His concerts still sell out and he is even better live than he is in the studio. My favorite part of Gath, though, is the fact that he is still quite humble and actually seems surprised that he sells out venue after venue. If you are able to find any live video of his performances, you should watch them, as he and his audiences have a great connection. Great reaction to this song. I listened to country for the first 16 years of my life and then fell in love with new wave, rock, and some pop and the many concerts that went with them. In the '90s I saw Garth in concert. I'm 56 and his was the best concert I have still ever seen!

Rodeo is one of my favorites as well as The Dance. Friends in Low Places and The Thunder Rolls MUST be watched in his live concert performance - then you get the extra THIRD verse in each song. Enjoy the rabbit hole.

What a voice. Listen how he pumps out that Southern twang in his voice. You can definitely hear the pain and passion. I agree 💯, this is a 5 ⭐. What I love about rodeo, is it's purely American tradition and it is alive and well.

I'm not a country fan. But Garth Brooks is one of the few country artist that I have in my collection. He's amazing. Please enjoy more of his songs. Ain't going down and Friends in low places are fun. Just to feel my love is a sweet love song and one of my favs.

Not a country fan but an early Garth fan! (some of) his lives are amazing video's! He's wild. He can make you cry. He's all the things. Several of his songs were cross over songs. A lot of non country people liked Garth. Personally this wouldn't have been my choice to introduce you to him but glad you liked it. I think that Garth hands down is the greatest country singer. He’s got an insane amount of songs that are just amazing. Please check out “New way to fly” or “ if tomorrow never comes” so deep and so amazing!❤ BTW my brother was a bull rider. He got severely injured on one of his rides. The bull crushed his ribs, collarbone, sternum and half his face, also the bull picked him up by his eye with his horn and sliced his eye. He’s recovered quite well for all the injuries. Rodeos are not for the faint of heart. But it’s amazing to see the family aspect that comes along with these riders.
