I've found my self in the modular synths for real pretty recently, thanks to Cardinal Synth. I absolutely love how you can play a whole song with it alone. Musicality is needed of course, but also mostly with what you feel the synth you created TALKS about, your fingers will move by them-selves. It could be anger, it could be sadness, something from space, digital, deserted, horror, nostalgic... it could be anything in the universe. You only have to put modules and wires, and it's a whole new level of music I've never experienced before.

Not sure why this popped up in my recommendations but I wish it happened sooner! This sounds immediately took me back to listening to a cassette tape of Ray Lynch’s Deep Breakfast on long road trips with my dad when I was a kid. He’s been gone since 2016, and little moments like this make him feel not so far away. Thank you so much for the gorgeous sound and hit of wonderful nostalgia!!

It's a voicing I've been played around with a bit recently. Sadly this recording was from one of my more experimental playing about sessions (so the whole 45mins is just me playing with random patching and other non-musical noises). I did upload another video from this session (titled my emotional support Moog). You can hear the same Moog/Instruo set up playing when the arp's kick in about half way through (albeit with different notes, and slightly lower in the mix). The only problem with such a big sound is getting it to play nicely in this mix - it's quite big, overpowering, and makes it quite a bit harder to tune everything by ear! I'll be playing about with that set up again though - It's got a bit of an early 80's Jean Michel Jarre vibe about it - which I quite like :) So yeah, you can expect something big sounding like that to be on it's way at some point....
