I was hoping you'd get to the Foos at some point. They have been my favorite band for nearly 30 years. Theirs was the first concert I ever went to as a teenager and my first mosh pit and crowd surfing experience. And I'm not white! 😆Seeing them live is incredible and you should definitely go for it. Of course it won't ever be the same without their drummer Taylor but I'm so happy to see them touring again with Josh Freese and can't wait to see them again. As far as genre goes I'd say they are the definition of hard rock, post grunge born out of 90's alternative music which the lead singer Dave Grohl helped usher in as the drummer of Nirvana. Their catalog is huge but some definite songs to eventually follow this up with would be "All My Life" "Monkey Wrench" "I'll Stick Around" "Run" "My Hero" "Everlong" "Something From Nothing" "Rope" "Best of You" and "Times Like These" That list gives you a wide spread along their history of albums. Looking forward to the next one you give a try to.

Dave Grohl is one of my favorite musicians because he still fully embraces what it means to be a musician. It comes out in their performances and Foo Fighters is still one of the best concerts I've been to just because they really make the shows about the crowd experience rather than it being about themselves. The got on stage and were 11 songs deep before they even said anything. Dude just likes to rock out and play and it's just a richer experience because of it.

Though grunge and then rock made him famous, Dave is an old school metal head. He did an amazing project called Probot where he just contacted a bunch of metal icons and said, hey you want to jam with me? Don't worry, you do you and I'll cover all the other bases. And they all said yes, sang a hard ass song, and he covered all the other instruments.

90s/early 00s rock definitely had its own sound. I think Foo Fighters is one of those bands that is the epitome of the style. Not a lot of synths, doesn’t lean into the techno/electronica that other genres were starting to lean into (not a hate on those but this kind of rock was mostly isolated from that.)

OK for starters Black Ppl invented Rock Music starting with Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Chubby Checker, and Fats Domino who were there with Buddy Holly and Richie Valens right at the beginning. After that you had the Isley Bros who did Twist and Shout long before the Beatles. Then you get to Hendrix, Mandrill, Funkadelic, Mother's Finest, Rick James and Prince. After that came Sound Barrier, Living Colour, 24/7 Spyz, Fishbone, Backlash, Body count, Eric Gales, Skunk Anansie, Lucy Brown, Roachford, King's X, Sevendust and Veer Union. Lots of Black People make this music.

Yes, they are phenomenal live. I actually saw them open for the Red Hot Chili Peppers back in 2000 or '01 (can't remember which) and they blew the Chili Peppers away! I love both bands but the Foo Fighters were always incredible live. Yes, I'm fairly certain most people know that Dave was the drummer for Nirvana. No?

Dave Grohl once broke his leg while playing a show, like the first or second song, had his band play some covers while he went to the hospital to get some treatment, went back to the venue about an hour after he broke his leg and then finished the set that was like 2 hours long while a medic helped to keep the leg stabilized. He is an absolute legend and the very definition of a rock star, but he's also super humble and down to earth from what I've seen in interviews and such. The rest of the band are also legends but Dave definitely is the front man. RIP to Taylor Hawkins.

Absolute goat 🐐 status that night. I was turned onto Foo Fighters because of Prince of course 2007 Superbowl.

As far as I’m aware he didn’t go to the hospital mid-set. I believe he went backstage and the medic put on like an aircast or brace to stabilize it, then he came back out to finish the show while the medic held his ankle in a stable position for the entire rest of the set. They reunited a few years after the event on a talk show I think. Either way, they’re both badasses in their own respects. Dave for finishing the show with a broken ankle, and the medic for holding his foot stable for the entire thing so that no more damage was done.

If this was like 3 or 4 years ago (I could be wrong on that timeline) he had like a throne built for the rest of that tour that held his leg in a good spot and played the shows from it. That was a super fuckin cool show. They did a cover of Bad Moon Rising as a full lunar eclipse was coming up over the mountain directly behind the crowd. Epic show.

The coolest part about that was his reasoning. He felt bad thar working class people spent there hard earned money to come out to see the show. He said he couldn't let people like that go home disappointed after spending their wages to see him.

Dave wrote and recorded the entire first album of foo fighters BY HIMSELF. It was produced in Seattle and was his way to recover from Kurt's death

And it's the best album they ever made. Last album included. "... Nothing Left to Lose" included... "Color and shape" included... "One by One" included... Every other album is amazing, and they rock. But there's something on the first album that just grabs me by the balls and say: "LISTEN TO ME!" You may disagree, and that's cool. Have your opinion. This is mine.

Unfortunately for this band, they lost their drummer Taylor Hawkins last year. Now Taylor was really one of a kind. In my opinion, one of the single most electric, tight and incredible drummers of this generation. He played drums like no other and he will be deeply missed. You should really look into him. He has a fantastic singing voice too. The man had endless energy

Can't go wrong with Foo Fighters. They had some adversity last year with the passing of their drummer Taylor Hawkins. But they are now back with a new drummer and new album. Rock on 🎸🎸🤘
