Thank you so much for this video! I have had a phomemo for about a year and love it! But you just completely opened my mind to new ways to use it!! I literally pulled mine out when you were adding the ink to the first image! I ordered a set of postal stamp rubber stamps yesterday and can't wait to combine them with tiny prints of my art. You always inspire my art in the most incredible ways. I only found you on KZbin about a month ago and seriously can't get enough of your content. I need to start at the beginning and watch all your videos. 😄 Or at least start a series. You have so many cool videos I just keep clicking, and I really want to work through a whole project. I think I'm going to start with the Advent journal. It's all just so yummy!! Thank you for all the inspiration. You're art is beautiful 😍

Dear Robyn! I am so happy you are excited about your new device. I must be the only person in America who does not have a smart phone, so this whole technique involving using a phone and a device that you have to supply with special paper leaves me rather cold, to say the least. It would be nice if there was an alternative process suggested for those of us who are trying hard not to get sucked wholesale into the consumption of electronics. I guess I am just an anachronism. I still love your videos and your art but I am going to be figuring out some way to create in my book without having to download a bunch of images.

Dear Robyn, yesterday I finished collage using your printables and today I see Tolley Parish use them also. It is interesting to see how different is approach each of us. I prepared also print for next pages of the altered book and glued the first two gold. I use deli paper - very nice for geli print, but after gluing there is a lot of wrinkles.

I had just sent you a comment on your welcoming video about collaging old photos, And after watching this with the machine printer you were using I thought of what a good idea that would be to take pictures of all of the old photos they be the same size and I can just stick them on to a Collage page and decorate and whatever, and parts of the letters etc. etc. What do you think? My only issue is whether thePaper is archival, but I don’t know if who cares at this point because the photos of all falling apart anyway. Please give me any ideas on this issue. Thanks again Robin for being somebody I know will probably come up with the best answer to this question!

Lynn Duvall use the 3 button at top right when you download Robyn’s gift pages. If you see something that says to open in your browser..open in browser then do the regular you do to print from your iPad. Hope this helps. If not send me a PM and I will true to help.

Jeannine Thames Thanks, but I was asking HOW to print from my iPad because I’ve never done it. My iPad isn’t connected to my printer but I think I may be able to set up that connection using Air Printer. Is that how you print from your iPad?

There are several good instructional videos out there. Hope this helps.

You can brush a little baby powder over your glossy medium page and then brush it off to prevent sticking!
@RobynMcClendon4 жыл бұрын
Actually with my glazing technique the layer of acrylic is so thin that I've not had a problem with sticking, but you could use a baby powder but what I prefer is translucent face powder or pastels in a coordinating color it just depends :)

Hi Robyn...I have been experimenting with a new product. The company Aladine, the product Izink Ice, developed or promoted with Seth Apter. It was introduced at Creativation. It is very interesting...very very transparent, layerable. A couple of colors layered over a gelli print has the feel of Quin. Nicole Azo Gold...one color like turmeric. But I would love to see what you would do with it. There are videos from Creativation you could check out. Then maybe get the company (French) to give it to you. I tried it on the gelli plate and if you are really fast it will pull up under layers...but it dries really fast. Tempted? Now you know how you influence me😉
@terrybanet33304 жыл бұрын
Yes, the iZink Ice is really cool. I was in class with Seth about two weeks ago and used it on my project. I was using some really vibrant Golden paint colors and pulled it back with a very thin layer of black. My whole set of the ice colors is sitting here waiting for me to find some time to play.

Robyn where can I find all those postage style stamps you use? I have spent hours looking for such type?
@grafxkat4 жыл бұрын
I was wondering Robin on the thermal paper how long does the printing last? If like receipt paper it fades to nothing over time and exposure to light?
@RobynMcClendon4 жыл бұрын
Yes I think I did mention that in the video. So the company says some papers, which are marked will last 10 years before beginning to fade and other papers last 5 years. So I'm using it Primarily in art journaling where I'm working through ideas. when I create designs that I like, and that is across the board regardless of materials, I then transfer those designs into more expense but permanent print solutions. I find the biggest barrier to experimenting with all the ideas that I have rolling in is cost, so anything that allows me to get quick inexpensive results like Photocopies, as in printables etc. photo printing machines I'm for it! Also generally when you coat these prints with something like photo sensitive paints as in the way I glazed them here it will also extend the life of the print. Thx for asking and hanging out with me! :)

Love that little printer! Take my money! 😂
@brigitteshantieaglemeare43504 жыл бұрын
Yay, that was very intersting, informative and enjoyable. How does the ink in that little printer work? Do you need to replace it often and is it costly? My book has a couple of pages where the pages did not tear out very well and left a damage to the structure. Can you show next time how to repair such a thing? I thought perhaps by gluing some papers accross the fold? What would be the best way to go about that? Thanks for all your guidance and inspiration Robyn.
@RobynMcClendon4 жыл бұрын
Sure did the page tear at the gutter/spine or the page itself? Regarding how long the inks last? It doesn't use ink at all! It's a thermal printer, it heats the paper in the areas of the image turning the paper black. :)

When I was googling Nick Bantock I came across some KZbin videos of collage inspired by Nick Bantock by Niamh Baly. Thought you all might be interested in checking her out.
@RobynMcClendon4 жыл бұрын
Yes! I am familiar with her work and the Nick Bantock inspired series that she did a year ago, I thought she did an excellent job of it! When I was doing my own research on Nick Bantock I scanned KZbin to see if anyone in recent years had been inspired by his work and I was surprised that her's was the only channel that had explored his work and "Mail Art" on KZbin. That's why I choose this genre as a focus for our Altered Book, I like to try and add new ideas to the conversation, not so much repeating what has already been or is being done :) Thanks for asking! xoxo
