Robyn thank you from the depths of my heart. I am disabled and legally blind I try to do what I can and adapt using equipment such as a large gooseneck magnification lamp so I can see some of the project. This has really helped me so much. In the last 14 months I have only left the house 3 times to go to hospital and I am alone most of the time. I just wanted to tell you how importart your videos are. Hugs x

OMG! This cracks me up: I love that you talked about re-configuring your home. Me too! I thought that I was crazy. But I pulled my gel printing plates 6 or 8 months ago, got them all set up on the dining room table ... and they are all still there!! I am having so much fun. And I LOVE not having to pull everything out and put it back every couple of days. One of the bedrooms is my studio ... I LOVE living in my art house. :D

The page that had yellows, greens, pink -- and the harlequin pattern -- reminded me of VIENNA, AUSTRIA. Those colors show up in many of their public buildings!

Oh really! Now that's a city that I haven't been to but it's on my list was planning to go to Prague also nice train ride between the 2 cities, last June but we all know what derailed that! LOL

I just loved this video! I’ve noticed a lot of artists talk a lot about layering and how that’s what makes a gelli print really interesting. Often that means laying stencils or some patterning over the original gelli print. While you also do that here, what really caught my interest was the way that you use color rubbing to add a layer of interest and make the original print shine. You might layer a stencil over that then, or you might do some scripting or some kind of mark-making that really finishes it off. But that color-rubbing technique is really valuable to me, especially as a way to use some of distress oxide products. I have not really enjoyed using some of the distress oxide products yet except for the fossilized amber, so seeing how you use it to bring out, say, brush strokes in a gelli print-well, it was a lovely revelation. Thank you again.

My boy got a pure bred german too in feb. She is a good girl but all puppy as well. LOL. She is learning new tricks everyday. She whines alot as well if she is kenneled and she hates the car!! But she is a runner and player. Have fun with your pup!!

This is beautiful! I had a female German Shep named Daisy for 16 years! She just left our family 2 years ago...was the saddest time in our lives. She was the most loving, people pleaser...She was sooooo well trained and always was looking after my boys. I miss her so much and haven't been able to get a new doggy yet. We are selling our home and buying a bigger house this year so hopefully we get a new Shep soon! I love having a dog! I can't believe someone would say that...people are cray lol You are so sweet...

Yes my very first dog was a Sheperd growing up and she was the same as you have described about your Daisy She past away when I was in my second year of college I was heart broken I couldn't even think about getting another dog, In fact my kids didn't have a dog until they where in Jr high school!!! My son finally insisted and now my little Bichon is 15 years and we dread the day he is no longer with us. So getting my German Shep has been many many years of healing that has allowed me to have one again. :) Thx for your kind words!

Wow is right! You do a lot of pieces that are earthy and toned. Do you ever work in bright colors? I love the earthy tones, but I always end up using brighter colors because that's my go-to. I'm trying to work with muted colors like that, but I always end up putting something bright in it. Just my touch. I love your reactions when you've stenciled something and it's oooh and ahhh!

Great video as always. Can't understand why someone would say that about your dog, must have been so upsetting for you, ignore them. Haven't followed you that long, but in that time you have come across as a gentle and generous soul who loves all life, keep strong and focus on all the positive comments and feedback. xx I have a rescue Whippet and she loves to sleep behind me in my study (where I craft) if I did video she definitely would be in them too...lol Am loving the 52 week challenge, find it's challenging me in a good way, and helping me discover what I want to do in my art (have only recently changed that from crafting because of you, Seth & a couple more) and love my gelli plate now because of you and got 2 more! xx

Just an idea... My daughter also has a large dog who is not fully grown. She takes him to Doggie daycare once a week or so. She lives in Washington State, but she only pays about 26 dollars a day and she can watch him on her phone while he plays with other dogs. He loves it and so does she. Nancy Stewart

Anyone that follows you would know that you love your dogs. Kicked! I’d have been stunned. You are being extremely responsible pet owner and doing all the right things. I used to have a gorgeous border collie from a working farm and he was my baby. I now have two chihuahua crosses who are adorable. Great video, as usual. I’ve just received my stencils but didn’t get the free round stencil as they mucked up my order totally, so i was really sad about that.I’ve just put in another order for all the rest of yours! Hi Robyn: I really laughed about your GS puppy. I have one too and at three she's still nuts about squeaky toys. Every night I go around picking up toys all over the apt., just like with little kids. OMG so lots of squeaky toys in my future!!!! LOL :) she does have so much fun with them and whats crazy she know where they all are and at times she collects them all so that she can start squeaking them all around the house leaving them places again hahahaha. Yes I actually have an incredible workshop planned in the South of France that I've been invited to teach. I also have a workshop on hold in Amsterdam that got cancelled last June but know one wanted there money back they want there places held for when we can travel again! I'll keep you posted thx!

I'm still watching the video, but I feel your difficulty. I had TWO wonderful German Shepherd Dogs; one weighed 110 and the other weighed 105. They are great dogs! They were puppy crazy, too, so don't worry. Your little girl will be WONDERFUL as soon as her brain grows up! LOL!

People always have something to say about puppies. 😞 I have a Doberman, so I totalllllly get the need to train the working dog breed! I say do what works for you and your dogs and as long as they’re happy and healthy, you’re doing an amazing job. Love this technique! Well done. I am really resisting the urge to buy more distress inks now. 😂

@@RobynMcClendon ain’t that the truth?! I get told the same thing about French ephemera 😂 I bought some of the Patty Pockets from Patricia Viramontes and LOVE IT. Thanks for enabling me on that one. 🙏💕 My poor girl has pneumonia, we spent the whole morning at the vet yesterday 😞 sometimes it doesn’t matter what we do to keep them safe and sound! Thankfully she’s on the road to recovery now. The steroids are making her feel like a whole new pup lol 💕 she was crate trained as a pup, and I swear by it now! She’s the sweetest, best dog I’ve ever had.

Hi Robyn, I love the layering and colors in this session. Also I will be thinking about the concept of love particularly as related to my artwork and how I use my time for creativity. I’m wondering if you could comment a bit more about how you did the original backgrounds for this session. I know you did them on your Patreon site but could you say a bit about it for this group since that’s what we’ll be using this week as backgrounds. I’m assuming you just painted onto the gelli plate and pulled pages. Did you use certain types of paints and if so did you need to water them down or mix colors? Any particular brush to use on the gelli plate? Thanks for doing this class I’m really enjoying it! Also, do you have a Facebook page or Instagram page where people are posting the weekly work they’re doing? Sometimes it’s kind of fun to see the work of other people in a class and their interpretation of the lessons. If not it’s fine. I’m basically happy with seeing your work and trying out the different techniques for myself. ❤️

No however I got a tip from one of my patrons once they get to much paint on them just soak them in Murphy's oil soap and the paint comes right off!

Oh my Goodness!!! So about the dog thing ~ I didn't hear a big whimpering dog in the same room with Robyn. I heard a little dog's big Yelp in the OTHER room. Being a Wild Animal Trainer and a Vet Tech, it shocked and dismayed me. I guess I used the wrong word 'kicked'; and it was a question, not an accusation. I should have asked if it had been 'stepped' on or something because it was indeed a serious YELP from a little dog and it hurt my Heart. I realize that I just shouldn't have said anything at all.

As a dog lover, I have to ask.... please don't take this the wrong way. WHY in the world would any good breeder let you take a puppy home with you at only 5 weeks old? I didn't think it was even legal in any of the states! I went and checked, and it looks like your state (New Mexico, right?) doesn't have a law on the books at all for this matter (which is sad). But regardless, 8 weeks should be the absolute minimum age to take a pup from it's mother and siblings. But I'm glad you are doing well with your new family member.

No Gail, if I said 5 weeks I really mis-spoke...lol gelli printing and story telling at the same time. Actually she was more like 9 weeks. My breeder owes both the mother and father which is why I choose him because after being with me for a month and a half and getting attached I knew going back to her family would make things easy for both of us and of course I visited her during those additional weeks of training. No trust me she was fully weaned from her mother and she has papers :) No dog farms for me I think that whole thing is just wrong and many many states don't regulate that though the laws suggest that they do.
