Its not about how fast they can crank out reviews of the latest drops in music i.e. Drake, Ross, K dot. People have to realize that it takes time to absorb bodies of work. This album, Rosebud's Revenge, came out about over a month ago. Give them time get to know the work before they speak on it. Its disheartening to see how people are consuming music and just tossing it out. Only listening to say that they listened, then clamoring for the next thing. Live with the album for a couple of weeks. You might be surprised what you find.

I'm someone who's into cryptic Hip Hop too from Aesop Rock to Illogic but I liked Ka before I got into Roc Marciano too and I still prefer Ka. KA's work maybe coded but he speaks on subject matters that all can relate to at some level. Honor Killed The Samurai for example starts with "Conflicted" a topic that all can relate too and also songs like "$" how he structures his hooks and wordings you could at least fall back onto something if the rest flies over your head. Roc Marciano's Pimp lingo may take sometime to grasp but once you do it's really dope!

Am I the only one who kind of gets a Piñata from Madlib and Freddie Gibbs vibe from this album? This album is seriously dope as hell. I do kind of feel like the production holds the rapper back a little bit during the middle of the album, it's like that problem on Cherry Bomb by Tyler the Creator where the beat was louder than the vocals, but at the same time the production was seriously beautiful, it's almost touching, and Roc Marciano's lyrics over them just combine to make something really special, the wordplay with chicken were all over this album and almost all of them had me dyin lol. Roc's flow and delivery also kind of remind me of Jadakiss in a way, I would love to see Roc Marciano and Ka on a Stones Throw project. I can't put my finger exactly on it but while Roc and Ka are similar, there's something about the way they rap that makes them sound like two totally different artists, I want to say that Ka is a lot slower flow wise, but I don't really know. Seriously though, I have a feeling this album is going to be an underrated Gem, my only gripes on this album is that I think the production could of used more bump, but I know that is kind of a bias on my taste when it comes to what I expect from beats, and maybe it's that lack of the kind of bounce I'm looking for is what makes the production so beautiful. My favorite tracks would be Better Know, Killing Time, Marksmen, Pig Knuckles & Pray 4 Me. Thanks for putting vid, awesome review!

I won't say I "connect" more with ka because as a middle class white dude from Chile I probably couldn't be farther away from his target audience but I do think his music helps me understand the struggle of black people better and that's what I love about it. Like I recognize the striking lyricism and I love a nice soul sample. But indeed the repetitiveness of the beats at times put me to sleep. It would have helped if his tone of voice had switched up a bit more than it did (though it did at various points which I liked). I remember putting on track 1 and feeling like his voice was buried in the mix but I kind of got accustomed to that. I feel like Ka's instrumentals were doing more interesting things around his voice and that made his poetic brilliance hit me more as opposed to here where I feel bored with the sample after a minute or less. But I'm happy I listened to it. Different than the usual shit.
