Rock Hard 4X4 Boat Side Slider Installation

This is the installation of new sliders on OVERCLOCK3D! I did have to do a little cutting to accommodate my TeraFlex Suspensions​ control arm bracket... probably something most of you won't have to deal with.

Like em, I'd also load the rocker panel holes with fluid film first, fluid film on all my under side parts.

Rich has a good point, also some corrosion protection on those drilled holes and a dab of silicone on the riv-nuts prior to installation.

I really like the look of these. They also appear to give you the best clearance. Is that true? I hate that so many others hang low and give you less clearance. I've seen plenty of times when my stock Rubi rails clear a rock that a slider would have hit for sure.

Your old set up appeared to be the Ace Rock sliders underneath the Rubi rails. That is what I am running. I'm curious if you were having any issues getting hung up off road or were you changing to offer a bit more protection. Your new set up is definitely a better looking solution.

Surprised you didn’t hot the holes with some paint to prevent rusting

I would have recommended drilling a 1/2" dia. hole at the intersection of your cut to provide a radius corner and stress relief

at about 12 min in when you are running the three holes between the frount and back door what is all the white? is that just a insulation in there?

Yep! It was like foam...I assume for sound deadening between the panels.

Maybe run a bead of silicone along the very top edge where the slider meets the body. This should help keep water, dirt, mud, or debris from getting caught in there and sitting on the bead you already ran along the top edge of nuts.

Not sure what you are looking for...but I had that setup for over a year and really liked it. It gave a nice step and offered protection. I changed it because I wanted more clearance... and a smoother bottom surface.
