To me boot camp was a good group with rappers who are pretty much the same as the other. they not fuckin with wu lol the wu was mad creative with fresh slang and let others know why Staten Island is Borough before wu nobody was shouting out Shaolin. That's the thing. Jay's main audience, love it or hate it, ain't hip hop and for damn sure ain't hiphop heads. White suburban teenagers don't give a fuck about the culture or the rules, they only care that it sounds hot in the moment. I've stayed saying that Jay ain't a writer, he's a biter, but like RA said: "there's only 50,000 heads that care about what true hip hop music is" off Every Record Label Sucks Dick.

Jay Z’s early hit with foxy “Ain’t No” sampled the beat that EPMD used “It’s my thing”. So Jay has always been sampling from voices (Nas, Snoop, Prodigy etc) to beats, and lyrics-Biggie.

Lucky for both of them, tek was the mediator so to speak because he was the only bed stuy dude in bcc & he knew dudes from junior mafia so that most likely cooled down the situation.
