I've had my M200 for about 3 months. I'm in love with it. I've put about 500 rounds through it and not a single problem. Edit- it's been 6 months, I've shot about 800 rounds through it and still perfect. I run SWC HP through it and it works fine. Edit- 1.5 years, still working perfectly. Just shot a few prairie dogs at about 30yards with it, not missing Edit- 2 years. I accidentally shot a 357mag out of it, don't ask me how because I'm not too sure. I shot 12 more rounds of 38 from it to see if it was fine and it was. I had a gunsmith look over it and he said he saw no damages at all. It was clearly a 357mag as the casing said so, it was much louder, and more recoil. I could tell as soon as I shot it that something was different. This cheap revolver was built very well if it could handle that. I don't recommend trying yours out though, maybe I just got lucky. Edit- 4 years. For the first time today I took my M200 to a short range fast moving live fire training today. I am by no means an expert, so I did not have the highest hopes for myself. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well it preformed. It performed so well I can say with 100% certainty that even 4 years later and possibly thousands of rounds through it at this point (cheap ones, +P, snake shots, etc) that I would use this for self-defense and even carry it as an edc if $200 was all that I had. I even preformed better in accuracy than my S&W 642 (although it may not be a fair comparison since the M200 is a 4" and the 642 is only 2' and much lighter so a little more recoil).

It's also worth mentioning RIA revolvers are the only revolvers out there right now that follow the "Colt action": they use a pull-back latch cylinder release (as opposed to a Smith & Wesson "push-forward" latch or a Ruger/Kimber "push button") and the cylinder rotates clockwise (every other manufacturer besides Colt rotates counter-clockwise).
@laurogarza49535 жыл бұрын
I appreciate your remark, "If you don't have a revolver, you need one." What most younger fellows today don't realize is how rugged and VERSATILE revolvers can be. For the outdoorsman, revolver is the way to go as it can easily fire all varieties of loadings of a given caliber including target and shot loads. I admit pistols can do this as well but revolvers can do so more easily and with full reliability. A small revolver is great for fishing, hiking and camping while a medium revolver, like the Rock Island revolver you tested today, is an ideal sidearm for the hunter. I'm sure you'll agree, Hickock45, that magnum revolvers can even serve as a primary weapon for hunting which attests to the versatility of a revolver for an outdoorsman.
@laurogarza49535 жыл бұрын
The Rock Island you've tested here is an ideal home defense handgun in that it can be left loaded, literally, forever in a night stand (provided kept from children) without worry of it compressing magazine springs or malfunctioning. Revolvers are superbly reliable as well as versatile.

It's Jan of 2022 and I bought one a couple of weeks ago. Been to the range once and am impressed. Comparing it to my Ruger Security Six, the fit and finish will not stand up but for performance on the range, it does. In operating, the only real difference is in double action. The M200's trigger on this pistol is closer to 10 lbs, while my Ruger would be about 2. In single action, just about equal and both are excellent. I paid $249 for this so not a surprise it has gone up a reasonable amount since 2019. It is a good value for a truck gun.

Great firearms! I've had 2 m200 and one m206 snub nose. Great weapons. My first m200 I put over 1500 rounds in it with zero issues. I wound up giving it to a relative for a home defense gun. I missed it so much I bought another one. The snub nose has been a great toolbox gun for over 8 years.

The Armscor M200 (and some very similar Armscor revolver variants) was the default handgun of security guards in the Philippines probably until the 00s. Nowadays there's a lot of Armscor 1911s but the M200 is still incredibly common.

Got the snubbie, the M206 (same as the M200 but with a 2.5" barrel). Love the thing. Paid $300 including taxes and background check here in CA. My recommendation is to find a replacement grip. The one it comes with feels like hard plastic and is hard on the hands after 50 rounds or so. For an emergency though? The 200/206 gets the job done. Loads of fun

Rock Island Armory or Armscor M200 is so popular here in the Philippines, it is issued in most private security officers across the nation. Maybe because of the fact that it so affordable yet very solid shooter available locally. Great video.

I bought mine 6 months ago from Buds. The M200 has to be the best revolver for the money being sold today. I added florescent green tape to the front ramp sight. Happy, happy, happy. Also own a M1911 A1 GI full size 45 ACP. Not one problem with either one. Rock Island Armory makes very dependable guns. They just work and keep working. They are cheap in price only. You could trust them with your life.

hows your m200 holding up?
@normansleesman60065 жыл бұрын
@@kungfumaster300 I've got around 500 rounds through it and not one problem. The front sight should be a bit thinner so you can center in the rear sight easier. My groups are the size of my fist at 8 to 10 yards. I couldn't shoot any better with a Smith or a Ruger. A man has to know his limitations. That's also the same group size with my M1911 A1 45ACP.

Kinda do too.. but not enough to dip into the wallet. Graduated to the Smith Airweight snubbies from the Taurus 85, 605 and am not looking back, although they were good shooting and accurate revolvers too.. Just got spoiled I guess with the smoothness and finish of the Smiths. Got enough revolvers and the door is closed for now. Have a couple K's too but they have permanent places in the house.

I just saw this gun at a local shop a few weeks ago. I noticed Ruger had a similar looking revolver for several hundred dollars more. Because of price, I bought this one a couple days ago & shot a box through it that day. The only malfunction I had, I've never seen before. When unloading the spent brass, somehow 1 case got under the ejector & I had to pry it out. As far as accuracy, ergonomics & all that stuff, I can't really complain. My gun doesn't have to be all decked out aesthetically, it has to be reliable, accurate & fun to shoot. I can't speak for reliability as I just bought it but it checks the other boxes.

I've owned one for almost three years now. It works pretty well, but I have had two indexing issues when pulling the trigger slowly and trying to be accurate on double action. i just came back from a small Michigan gun show with a brand new 4 inch M200. This video was a big help in making the decision. There was a lot of semi auto guns on the tables but very few double action and most of those were way outa my budget. The only other choice was a EAA in .357 for 50 bucks more. The Rock Island was not 200 anymore. i was there to buy and the choice was limited so i accepted the price going up to almost 400 as the times like the gas i paid to get there or a piece of lumber. But thanx to old wooden headed Joe and my swindleus check i said full speed ahead and now i have it in my hand! Tomorrow its Church in the morning, Family bar b cue and shootout in the afternoon! Life is good!
