What I find incredible about this song of Tim's is that although there is his usual comedy aspect to the song it's a rather deep and touching song about his life and his life in music. He is actually a fantastic musician and a great comedian. Great talent he's got there, I kind of envy him!

@CharlotteAndRachael I wasn't comparing Bono to anyone specific. I just meant in general, from any point, it's always down to Bono's level.

@aaronrushton1 I don't think the audience had a mic on them, during his stand up they're a bit more giggly. Plus this was before he was particularly big. But I do agree, I'd be crying with laughter

@MrGodders111 i know now, he says it at the start of one of his shows, bit of a let down ;D still love him, though.

The only good/effective/tasteful use of any green coloured gel in theatre I've seen aside from Wicked. And even that's a bit obvious... obviously. Especially since I work at that theatre, green normally doesn't look good. Oh, and FUCKING AWESOME SONG

@illfindoutful I can't really remember why it annoyed me tbh, i think i was probably just in a bad mood when i saw it

I'm pretty sure it's real but is that mic connected to a synth @3:30 to @4:15. His voice sounds so awesome and disjointed.

@CharlotteAndRachael Correction, Fucking brilliant atheist with a piano.
@charliesmakinme13 жыл бұрын
@wazzamon lol no... he never does... its because of nerves with one his early gigs, so he decided that he would wear no shoes so he could feel like the audience was in his lounge. Kinda like imagining the audience is naked.... but he strips himself instead lol ... now its habit..... he talks about it in his interview with Johnathan Ross if you're interested.
@ruroremy15 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I still think that's the best version of the song. Shame too, as his voice is a lot better here.

his point isnt that gnr are better. its the fact they are more a more hard sounding out and out rock band rather than queen.this is what the song is about, that the person wants to be a rocker but at heart he just doesnt cut it. nothing to do with who is better which is a diff debate altogether!!!
@gazalaza199514 жыл бұрын
is this song about himself?

If you haven't watched BGTs jon courtnenay please do. He has completely crossed the line between 'being inspired by' and straight up copying Tim, but still managing to write a shit song. He even sings about 'writing in 3rd person'. The fact he won the show honestly baffles me.
@leah_bouzgarrou2 жыл бұрын
i’ve just watched that and i am honestly absolutely astounded by the similarity between that song and tims song. inspired my arse. more like he just took tims song and tried to make it his own.

I am aware of that Tim is an atheist, i have been to see him several times, it is something we have in common... That was what is usually known as a joke...

@CharlotteAndRachael Tim is an athiest. So if he's God, then he doesn't believe in himself... man needs confidence. ;)

This version isn't really that great compared to the one on the Australian TV show where there are big black women with gospel vocals and an orchestra...

I personally can't stand Bill Bailey, I don't think he is particularly talented and from what I've seen of him he is a very arrogant man. I actually know someone who met him on the street and she said he was really rude.
