Oh you are too funny, while at the same time having such valuable info! So many fine-motor skills necessary for the Foil magic just dont come across on match replays, as a former Sabre fencer I can dance circles around many foilist footwork wise but hitting flat after so much work is infuriating. Going to be trying the wrist angles and extending a hair sooner to open up disengage opportunity, thanks. Other vid also de-mystified flicks, we'll see if I can pull it off in 6months. DBZ, Spongebob, Cowboy Bebop, I approve of your childhood 😆 hope to see you at a future NAC post-COVID!

Great video! Very interesting the part about holding the grip, can you explain a little more in detail how to hold your foil with the index finger on the side ? Is the finger completely on the side or is the tip of the index finger still slightly below? I would be interested to know because I see more and more fencers holding their weapon this way. Thank you!

are disengages harder on a french grip or is it just my lack of experience?
@S-classFencing
@S-classFencing Жыл бұрын
We’d say French grips in general are slightly more difficult to use, however they are great for training fundamental technique. You can think of the pommel as “training wheels.” If it’s locked in to your wrist during your action, you’re probably doing great.

What format do the mentioned lessons take? And with whom are they?

We offer private or small group e-lessons. The participant should have access to a target (just standing a bag vertically will do), or partner. We've even had a father - son duo learning together, from scratch, where both have a set of equipment and are able to do partner exercises together.

All this intercutting is annoying and serves no real purpose except to distract. I was interested in your video but it's badly edited. Use the animations sparingly and only when necessary. Stay on message.
