I was there in 2010 and you couldn't so much as attempt a snapshot on your flip phone without a security person shutting you down. I see a lot has changed, but some things are the same. Indeed the Pink Floyd The Wall display was there, as was the CBGB awning. The ZZ Top car was parked just a few yards away from the awning at that time. Also a lot of things weren't behind glass, but merely roped off. We came upon a Michael Jackson display with some outfits and his shoes on a little pedestal. My friend said, "I don't care if they kick me out, I'm touching MJ's shoes!" He reached right in and touched them but no alarms went off and no security descended upon us. I guess they were too busy busting people taking pictures.
@RobertFithen3 ай бұрын
When I went, you wouldn't have the opportunity to touch anything but the really large items because things like shoes were all behind glass. I was wondering if there was a policy against videos and photos. I noticed there aren't any other tours on KZbin. Maybe security had the day off and I got lucky.

Loved seeing the guitars, especially Joe Strummer's and Jerry Garcia's, and John Paul Jones' bass. The regional exhibits, like the Midwest and Seattle/Northwest, were nice to see as well. It's a bit crass and commercialized, sure, but there's still worthwhile memorabilia to see.

14:23: That promo jacket was from a Buffalo NY radio station, "brought to you Harvey & Corkey Productions," Harvey being the now-infamous Harvey Weinstein, who attended college and got his start in the entertainment business here. I wasn't a fan of the Stones and didn't attend the show, which was held in what is now called Highmark Stadium -- but pretty much everyone else in Buffalo did, that show was huge. And it was immortalized with long-standing graffiti on a railroad bridge that spanned the main route to the stadium. "ROLLING STONES '78!"
