This "Ave Maria" version should be mandatory to watch for those who think metal singers are just angry and scream/growl all the time.. Also, for more of tender Marco you should listen to "while your lips are still red", it´s absolutely beautiful.

Floor's operatic voice is in full display in her tribute song to her opera idol, Henk Poort, in the first performance of Beste Zangers 2019 "Vilja Lied" LIVE. Surprisingly, none of the other performers on the show had any idea who Floor was until the shock of her performance.

@@jamesallen1153 Yep. Been seeing the same misleading comment everywhere. They didn't know who Floor was before 'the show', meaning before getting the list of participants and their chosen song list of meaningful songs to pick from and study, three months before first episode taping. Now, seeing someone singing on youtube and seeing someone 20 ft in front of you singing live are two completely different things, but it's disingenuous to claim this was the first time they heard her or they knew nothing about her before she sang vilja lied.

They studied each other extensively during the lead-up period,and even rehearsed the duets during the week on Ibiza, there is a docu on that... The rehearsals were kept separate from the others so they had not heard the others sing, but they must have studied earlier performances/records. The famous " and dan trekt ze haar scheur open"(then she opens her big mouth) refers to a song Floor heard Samantha sing way before the show took place.

One thing about Marko and his singing. He said it himself that he bases his singing style off of another great singer who had many different voices: Ronnie James Dio. You could take his entire recently released solo album, pull him off it, out in Dio, and it would sound the same. However, since he had that botched vocal surgery a while ago, rumor had it to get his voice back, he had hired a vocal coach.. some unknown lady named Floor Jansen. 😉 But he definitely has a ton of different voices and color to his voice, which is what makes him one of the best all around singers in the world.

Hard to stand toe to toe with Floor, but Marko was outstanding. Like you said, Marko has a great vocal range. Floor… well spectacular and tender. I think she restrained her power given the nature of this duet. Had she had a duet with Henk Port she might have taken it too a different level. Great analysis.

Floor Jansen and Marco are amazing. Great singers! Amazing technique! But... Lara Fabian - Je Suis Malade ("From Lara with Love Concert" - 2000). Dimash is a huge fan of Lara. She is a performer and something else. She really sings with heart and soul. Johnny et Lara Fabian - Requiem pour au fou (16 million views on KZbin). What a voice! What a performance! She is something else!
