Bio major here! Relicanth looks a lot like real life remnants of ancient fish called sarcopterygii or coelicanths. Basically fish with fleshy fins that have actual bones in them (like the radius and ulna). The real guys are extinct, but a bunch of their descendants were discovered within the past decade. That would actually be pretty cool to see. Ice type would be interesting, because there are different types of ice out there. Plus, I've yet to understand why Weavile's line is ice-typed. I know Jynx is ice type because it is based on the Yuki-onna of Japan's folklore. But Weavile's is a mystery to me.
@MrAuthor3DS7 жыл бұрын
Sneasel (and by extension Weavile) are actually based on the kamaitachi, a weasel youkai that was used to explain the sharp sensation you feel from a cold wind.
@fruttidimare92017 жыл бұрын
Well, it really depends on the Pokemon. Some Ghost-types, like Phantump, Pumpkaboo, Litwick, and Blacephalon, aren't really very spooky. While others, like Trevenant, Chandelure, Giratina, Spiritomb, and Sableye, are spoopier. It really just depends on _why_ it has the Ghost type. With Normal, that depends on what you consider to be "normal." Eevee, Ratata, Patrat, Tauros, Litleo, and Yungoos seem to be pretty "normal" Pokemon, but then again... you get stuff like Heliolisk where it's not so obvious. For me, Normal is more of an animal-y type. I remember reading some advice on creating Normal-types somewhere, and the author made a comparison to Eevee with its whole "untapped potential" thing and how it can evolve into 7/8 different types. Fire, again, just depends on the Pokemon. Some are directly fiery, like Charizard, Moltres, Slugma, Magcargo, Inceneroar, Rapidash, and Chimchar. Others, like Tepig, Combusken, Oricorio, Volcorona, and Darumaka, it's not so obvious. I think some Pokedex entries actually _give_ the temperature of the fire, but I could be wrong.

@CesarGonzalez-ur9ic7 жыл бұрын
Erik Ghostwood and the crew Yeah nobody said it was ice. They could very easily be actual minerals. Any gem that comes in blue. There's a lot, not just sapphires. There are also aquamarines, diamonds, tourmalines, quartzes (regulars quartzes, jaspers, agates, onyxes, etc.), pearls, topazes, garnets, lapis lazulis, opals, turquoises, alexandrites, zircons, fluorites, rutiles, and more. The list goes on.
@jamescookiii2257 жыл бұрын
Toon Link FYI just because they have crystalline minerals on them doesn’t make them rock type. Golduck and Espeon have gems on their foreheads and they aren’t rock types. They’re part rock type because of the fossilization process
Amours and aurorus havd gems in their side, so that could be the rock link.

Hey Gnoggin! I know this is an old video and I'm not sure if anyone else had made this remark, but I think there's some more to be said about Relicanth. It's not incredibly relevant to it being rock type, but interesting nonetheless. The Pokemon REALLY resembles a type of fish called a coelacanth; the names are also incredibly similar. You even mentioned it looks like a fossilised fish, making Relicanth a living fossil of sorts. Well, the same is for coelacanth! They're an incredibly old type of fish and are commonly referred to as 'living fossils'. As always, great video :)

Diance is the evolution of Carbink, just not how you would think with traditional Pokémon. It's the Darwinian evolution of Carbink, as stated in the Pokédex.
@shinysilverstardust7 жыл бұрын
Helix The King Diancie is a mutation. Not an evolution. So Diancie is the gen 6 Genesct.

If its the darwinian evolution, why do carbinks still exist? Plus, there would be a lot more diancies, if evolution works how i think it does

KvAt uh, yeah, yeah it does. It even comes out and says it in Archen's Pokedex entry when it says it's the ancestor of some bird Pokémon. That's called Darwinian evolution

Are there still some left? I thought every Pokémon got a baby version or at least a Mega evolution.
@vanessarae83607 жыл бұрын
Top of my head I can think of are Farfetch'd, Lapras, and Dunsparce. Also I personally don't think Mega's count as a proper evolution so I would include Pinsar and the others. Every gen has at least one no evolution pokemon.

I'm a Geologist and you did awesome. There were a few things that were a little off, but all together I can tell you did your research. Regirock would be a "conglomerate" rock, Macargo would be a rhyolitic magma pokemon due to its high SiO2 content giving a high viscosity , and Larvatar could be coated in metamorphic rock.
@MrUsoutlaw4 жыл бұрын
Fun fact that might explain Areodactyl having rock hard skin but a mosquito still being able to drink its blood. Turtle shells actually have nerves and blood vessels in them and mosquitoes are able to get through the small gaps in their shell and suck their blood. so its possible Aerodactyl has small yet very strong scales like the ganoid scales of Gar fish.

Alolan Golem was actually supposed to be based off of Traditional Shinto Priests but I see how you got the Tazer with the Electric Yellow. If Golem is Half Electric that could be based off of a Kami's Emotional Powers.
@OtakuUnitedStudio2 жыл бұрын
I do not see a Shinto priest at all. It was supposed to be based on a railgun. In fact, searching online, I can't find any other claims of it being based on a priest.

A reason for Rhyhorn to be Rock-type is that the collagen in rhinos skin has a lattice shape, one that they share with crystal materia. Hence they have rock hard hide (which can be more or less dense in real rhinos).
@sebsational1236 жыл бұрын
If I'm not mistaken fossilized amber is still rock-like and is even treated like a crystal or semi-precious stone. So maybe that's why aerodactyl is still rock type and can get pierced by a mosquito? And also aurorus and its evolution have crystal-like bumps on their sides so maybe that explains it a little better?

Thoughts on Nihilego: I thought it was an oversight that blown glass wasn't mentioned, especially considering we have blown glass jellyfish figurines made by talented artisans. Also, glass is actually a liquid! It is very, very, very thick, but liquid nonetheless (over very very long spans of time glass will warp as it is stretched downward by gravity). This - in addition to the strange physics of another universe - is a pretty solid explanation of Nihilego's biology.

I noticed you said manganese can explain yellow coloring. In my experience, the mineral that shows up mostly as a yellowish color is sodium. I test water in a biology lab, and if I get water that’s yellow, it’s going to be high in sodium. We actually test minerals and some metals with spectrometry, and manganese shows up as a very deep and warm orange color when you spray it at a plasma torch. It’s lovely really.

Aerodactyl is a bit tricky. To figure out why rocks come out from its body when Mega Evolving, first we have to find out what it was originally. Since all we know is that it is currently a Rock/Flying type, and it can obviously fly perfectly, Flying is confirmed for sure. But what about Rock? Did it replace anything or was it a pure Flying type? Well, I think it was actually a Dragon/Flying type. This is held true by the fact that Lance, the DRAGON master, uses an Aerodactyl on his team in every game he's seen in. Not to mention it's attitude. In every appearance of Aerodactyl, it has constantly been shown to be quick to get angry and has a foul temper. All of which are traits shared by most Dragon types. Not to mention it's move pool, which is shared by countless Dragons. Now. How was the Aerodactylite first formed? In order for someone to have an Infinity Stone and an Aerodactylite, Aerodactyls would have to be around during the time AZ's device was built. A time when fossil Pokémon would have to have been revived to live. This means that even if it isn't how the original Dragon/Flying Aerodactyls were, that's what DNA the Aerodactylites are encrypted with. Aerodactls before might as well be a different species. Well, they technically are. It's like if you use Soak to turn an Aerodactyl into a Water type and then it Mega Evolves. It's not slapping a new type on, it's bringing out what's there now.

Helix The King I agree with you but again I completely disagree with you because it’s rock type because well fossil Pokémon and fossils are rocks so. And it shouldn’t be rock type because rocks are very heavy and flying creatures need light or hollow bones because heavy things cannot fly I mean have you ever seen an elephant fly? But again the Quetzalcoatlus breaks the laws of physics because it was very heavy and it could ... fly
